  • wow WOW !!!!! very cool spread I love it the little city square round about over the cross is awesome and the single lane going up the hill is nice the scenery is just the best good work have fun and happy racing

  • very good ,,,muy bueno

  • Nice track... Altho, it looks like you have recorded that with a wooden stick...

  • Muy guapo un saludo

  • awesome track my friend hopefully mine will look like that in a few years, i have a long way to go still !

  • Hi ,nice track not keen on cross overs though, like the single lane section

The powerbase pro is that modified or an off the shelf item, if its modified who did it, where are they at ? I have two 6 car power bases both still work but have issues which has reduced me to a 4 car base would be great if i could get 6 cars happening again

  • The Powerbase Pro is a 3rd party upgrade. I believe it would solve all your issues -- do a google search for it and you'll find a long thread about it on Slotforum

  • Looks like it would get boaring just watching cars run around like that.

  • I suppose it would, but you can also race against the "ghost cars"! This was just a demo of the PB Pro ghost cars work; I guess I should have jumped into the race myself for the demo!

  • hi what price will you sell the pb pro for

  • The PB Pro stays with the layout. I wouldn't sell it separately.

  • would it cost much for me to go digital as i currently only have a analogue set and does it offer that much difference ? im not a scaextric freak but very intersted and you seem to no your shit

  • This particular track with "Powerbase Pro 1.8 s-h" will also run analog cars. Once you have a "Going digital" essentially costs whatever it costs to install a Scalextric digital chip -- about $17 each car.

  • @oval80 it defo make a difference its so much more fun to, i only got into scalextric 7 months ago, started with a analogue street cars set, brought the ulitmate expansion pack for it,i got bored with it for a month untill i got the digital conversion kit (£60) then started going mad on ebay buying loose track parts, now i have a 5 meter by 5 meter design which im building in my attic, i has really re-light my fire for it now! digital is mayhem, over taking, pits, fuel management, lap times on pc

  • sabe scomo se acen las montañas o alguien lo sabe¿?

  • como aces las montañas¿?

  • Tu pregúntale en inglés que verás que bien te va a entender XD

  • wow, amazing! i got scalextric digital not long go, its amazing!

    I was just wondering...

how do make that fantastic scenery!?!?!?

How much did the table cost on its own?

and what do you use to cut the pieces of track to get single lane curves and how do you join them together?

thanks so much, hope for a reply!

great vid by the way! lol

  • Try Dave Frary's How to Make Realistic Model RR Scenery. The tables aren't that expensive to make, maybe $300 or so. Probably have about $5K invested in the various parts. Just used a exacto knife to cut pieces of track and they're held in place by the scenery.

  • Nice track !! Sissy cars , put som American iron on !

  • Surf music for this video???

    But cool track!!

  • Wonderful layout and creative use of space using hills. I'm looking to buy my first digital 1/32 slot car track but I wanted to look at a few of them on You Tube. I certainly love what you did with yours.

  • hey, i got my scalextric digital not long ago, it really is a load of fun! hoping to get the new 6 car powerbase for christmas, its weird cuz all the analouge cars just buzz and light up, but the 360 cars just go without pressing the throttle, lol, its a great hoby! FOR LIFE! lol

  • This track is ace. Cool cars and scenery. Are they Porsches?

  • The first set of cars are the Scalextric Porsche Boxsters. The second set are Austin Healeys.

  • how do you get all the details ?? :O

  • song goes with the song lol

  • Fantastic layout.

    Just 2 questions:

1- how did you do the single lane hairpin turn? Scalextric only has a single lane straight and a Radius 2 single lane curve (wide).

2- are the 2 lanes-to-1 pit lane tracks at either end of the single lane straight standard pieces or have they been shortened?

This will help me with my own track layouts.

    Look forward to a reply.

    Thanks.

  • 1. I took a hairpin and cut it in half.

    2. Yes.

  • Ah, ha! I thought so.

It also appears you have "treated" the track to get the grey appearance vs. asphalt black.

Greatly appreciate the reply. I have asked Scalextric if they plan to add to the single track inventory... awaiting a reply... your's was much quicker!

Also, I am pursuing the PowerBase Pro contact to see how much it will cost.

    Thanks again.

  • Fantastic!

    Great Track & Video.

  • y'all the vid is tooooo loooong i got bored at 4 min...but dont get me wrong i love that track, its a piece of art!!

  • i just got my powerbase upgraded

1st race with the fuel load having an effect on the speed of the car tonight

can't wait!! love my powerbase pro

    brilliant vid, brilliant track

  • Hey jmswms, great track I can only hope inside the the 20 years I can build something half as good as this.

  • QUESTION from a Scalextric Noob

will the new powerbase 1.6 have the function of pace cars??

  • Not sure what 1.6 you're referring to. 1.6 is the name given to the 3rd party PB Pro software. I think the new SSD powerbase will have ghost/pace cars, but I'm not sure all the details have been announced or confirmed.

  • yes i'm referring to the future 6 car powerbase, 1.6 version

i get very impatient with Scalextric, they are a little behind companies like SCX which have pit strategy included.

    thanks for the info :)

  • Pit Strategy (much better than SCX) is available by hooking your 6-car PB up to a computer and using 3rd party software. If that's what you're looking for.

  • yes, i am looking into that,... Rubenio from SlotForumInternational offers the software for free.... i just need a laptop :)

  • that is one of the best tracks/scenery i have ever seen.

I'm currently building a small SSD semi permanent track to store up against the wall, and it looks so crap compared to yours.

    Wow, amazing track. 5 stars

  • Thats is awsome. mint as track

  • good track..

  • Your track is a work of art. Can me and my mate bring our Q-Steers round for a few laps of it please?! :0)

  • If you're in LA...

  • The comment from BBCMech is actually from me, I was logged in under the wrong username. Sadly, I'm in the UK. Wonder how much plane tickets to LA are?.... :0)

  • very very kool track and was that the beach boys? sounded like johnny b goode at the start
