To Ziggan's point: it would be a nice cultural contribution to the english world if someone translated this and other Erich Fromm youtube videos from German/Spanish to English! ...who is it going to be?
My german is terrible, but it's 'something' along these lines:
"All the signs point to the direction of a catatrophe, as long as in the questions of life there is a small chance, just one or two percent, people shouldn't give up. People should try everything to avoid the catatrophe. If we act with life it is different than if we act with guild.''
germans can probably point out some grave mistakes in this translation, I'll leave the other translations to more suited people.

"All arguments, almost all arguments, indicate that we continue as ever since and driving right in the next catastrophe. But i also say, as long as exists a small chance in question of life, lets say 1-2 percent, people shoulndn't give up. So long people should try to prevent the catastrophe. If people try to save lifes its different than if they save money.
