  • Neat trick

  • You can also pull the tips of the bangs and blow dry to! :D

  • I don't think it is damaging at all. Even youtuber HariCrush mentions in her Chime's Natural Hair Journey video that she even relaxed her edges a few times throughout her natural hair journey. Abusing heat can be as bad as a relaxer, but i don't think you are abusing heat here. Abuse would be too high heat, too often, and using products that literally fry your hair before applying the hair iron.

  • are u a delta? i was just curious from ur yt name lol

  • "MAH-MAH-MAH-NIP-U-LATION"!!!

  • YOU ALL WAYS HAVE AMAZING SONG IN YOUR VIDEOS!

  • Another thing you can do is use booby pins in the upper part of your bang to pin it down,& put the upper hair ontop &you'll get the same look.

    &bonus nooo heat,lol(;

  • You look like a mix between Karyn Parsons and Halle Berry! :D

  • Thanks for this video- I will try this.

  • i like the song who is it?

  • This was such a cute video. You looked great! Thanks for sharing the secret.....sssshhhhh :-)

  • look so cutr eith your hair

  • Cute video. Love the style, will have to try it.

    sidebar: You are so funny.

  • very cute! Thank you! God Bless you and the Family!

  • Great style! Thank you 4 sharing.

  • OMG this vid was so cute! Ive blowed dried a couple times in the last month or two and I feel guilty! I have no idea where this comes from.. Ive been brainwashed. Thanks for reminding me to b normal. LOL. Luv this vid!

  • It's your hair doll face, do whatever makes you happy. Where did all these natural hair rules come from anyway? I'm just asking.

  • Thanks for sharing. :0) I love those feather earrings at the beginning :0)

  • love it , i car not abpout heat as long as it an't too high , the before is fab and the after is lous , 2 thumbs up

  • Your skin is fantastic. What do you use?

  • shoot...i have the opposite problem...my bangs are almost straight and has been the time i've been natural :(

  • Cute!!!!! and cool tip!

  • I don't know what was funnier, you looking sideways before the barrel iron, or the music! I use a minimal amount of heat with no negative side effects also, it's all about your hair and how you use it.

  • very nice and you hair is growing very very well

  • Your hair has grown back so fast! You are so pretty with the puff & bang. You can also get the same effect by pulling the hair taught and applying heat with the blow dryer. The best to you and happy hair growing

  • You had me cracking up at 1.21.

It's always great to see folks trying new things that differs from the norm. If you're not hurting yourself or anyone else, I don't see the harm.

You hair looks great and that is a great tip.

  • Girl, why didn't you just use the trick you taught me 8 months ago? You know, the metal clip on the bangs while they are drying. You could use a blow dryer on cool to speed up the process that way you would not have to use direct heat at all.

I DO understand your annoyance though, my bangs won't lie down the way I want them to either, not without manipulation, anyway (P.S. cute song choice!)

P.P.S. lol @ pulling out the curling iron like it is bootleg liquor or something. :D

  • omg you are so beautiful.

Just as someone else said, it looked great in the before. But I must admit I also like the end result. Nothing wrong with a little heat here and there.

  • GREAT SECRET!!!!!!!!!! looks nice. thanks for sharing.

  • I like your secret. I also like both looks. My hair behaves the same way as the before. It has length but tends to look shrunken. The concept of using the low heat iron to "stretch it" gives new life to my puff. Thanks so much!

  • whatever works! I think it's cute! BTW I have the same exact earrings. The feathers with the blue balls and chain. Those are my favorite earrings.

  • Hey girl! I'm definitely one of those who avoid heat like the plague. But I luv that u felt comfortable and open enuff with us to share your secret! I think that using the heat on your roots and avoiding your ends, which are usually weaker, is on point! Although I cud definitely see the elongation, I thought u were just as cute with the shrunken bangs! Either way, this is the first vid I've seen using this method, so I really appreciate your contribution! Thumbs up for sharing!!!

  • so cute!

  • I love it . You could really see a big difference. I will try this once in while because I do not want heat damage. Thanks for sharing.

  • You are too cute sis!

  • wow your hair really has grown!!! very pretty love the vid :o)

  • oh well you don't hit the ends which is the ewskest area of our hair so it look ok to me. Thanks for the tip I really needed this video.

  • have u done a length check vid recently??? if not that sure would be swell =0] and u r too cute in this vid lol

  • It can't be hurting b/c you retained length like crazy!!

  • love the music

  • Girl ...it is ok...it is no different than using the blow dryer to stretch curls which many have done to combat shrinkage. Nice.

  • I'm to chicken to try this! But I'm happy it works for you with no issue. I hope to be over my heat phobia by year 2. ( I've been natural 17mths.)

  • ha ha this is too cute. and the other girl that posted a comment is right you should model. You have the face for it :)

  • Very lovely.

  • It looks the same...

I also used to flat iron my bangs a bit and then I noticed they were never as long as the rest of my hair, so I stopped. I just wear my satin scarf at night in the position I want them the next day.

  • Shhhhh....I won't tell nobody :-) Great video as usual!

  • Your hair looks so cute. I recently blow dried my hair on a low warm setting and it came out straight. Heat is not as bad as people make it seem.

  • OMG! Great Idea!!lol. u should get one of those 1 inch travel sized flat irons to do your bangs tho... Make it a bit easier..its 10 bucks. :)

  • STEALING IT!! why haven't i thought of that before lol

  • Your hair is always so together I love it. Thanks for sharing.

  • I like it both ways. It's cute XD

  • I liked your original hairstyle! I think I'm going to do that next week:)

  • I keep saying I am going to do that with a flat iron when I do my wash and go(I have only done 1 wash n go in the last 6 months). I saw a Youtuber do that with a flat iron about 6 months ago when I discovered naturals on youtube and I just have never tried it. Looks nice! I was waiting for my curls to drop some on thier own, then POW the ultimate drop(heat infused) I am not really that afraid of heat? Maybe I should be! I need to be afraid of color and bleach(I am going crazy with color).

  • OMG How cute was that. Maybe you can help me with some styles. I'm 5 months natural and I need something other than the twistout and just a fro. Check out my page or anyone else that is reading this that may have some advice. Please and thank you in advance.

  • Cute hairstyle.....i think you could "seriously" model:)

  • Good video, thanks for the info... and I don't think it was that much heat to call the cops... it's not that serious.

  • Why not, since you've tried it out awhile and got the results you were looking for.

I like the putting together of this video.

  • I am gone tell YTers :o) You are adorable.

  • I've finally figured it out!! I found the person you've been reminding me of!! *crazy*

The model Liya Kebede!!! To me you look like you could be sisters!!

[since i can't post links- take a quick look at google images ^_^]

  • @nawtley I think she looks like Janet Hubert who played the original Vivian Banks on The Fresh Prince. That was the best Vivian. I really miss her character.

  • cute hairstyle! you're so beautiful.

  • cute!

  • You look super cute with that!! You better do that!! lol

  • You have a beautiful smile :) You just spew positive energy and I LOVE IT!!!

  • very very cute

  • Both looks are cute. I have that same curling iron, lol. I thought you were using the InStyler for the bangs. Actually, on one of your other vids, you mentioned using the InStyler, and I forgot I had one that my sister gave me, and last wkend, I pulled it out and wore a straight look, lol. It's nice to have options isn't it.

  • Very cute. I'll have to remember this when my hair gets a little longer.

  • Have you tried elongating your curls with a blow dryer and concentration nozzle?

  • Work is sista!! Very cute!!!

  • People are so "deep" with these DISLIKES...this is a simple vid with, to me, with the best NO heat damage to QT'fy the bangs...smh! Again, You go CURLFRIEND!

  • Love it...great tip! I will definitely try this when my puny puny bangs grow a little longer. Love the song!

  • You looking around suspiciously before taking the curling iron to your bangs had me rolling!! LOL :-)

  • You sneaky little thing!!! LOL Great tip and a really cute style on you!

  • I use bobby pins to give my bangs some length. I put the bobby pins need the root. You should give it a try.

  • You sneaky little thing!!! LOL Great tip!

  • Good idea, thanks for sharing

  • Why you holding out?!? Dang, lol. Fabulous tip! I know I'm gonna use it!

  • Damn, you been holding out? I have the that problem with my bangs, I hope it works. I dont really have a problem with putting heat to my hair. I just dont do it everyday, not even every week.

  • Undercover Sister!! Very pretty and you look sooooo young!

  • supercute style:) I like the idea!

  • That's a good idea it looks nice!

  • there was nothing wrong with the 'before' lol

  • Nice...love the puff and the bangs are very cute.

  • Great idea although I'm very afraid of heat! You look great with the puff! I've only been natural for a year and 2 and a half weeks. I'm still learning.

  • Thanx for sharing!

  • CUTE!!!!

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
