On almost all war movies Germans are always represented like idiots and dupes.
They never hear the ennemies arriving, they never recognize the ennemies wearing their german uniforms, the snipers are always found and killed, they always lose when fighting hand to hand, and so on...
Anything that involves killing nazi kraut bastards is aces with me. Fuck you german motherfuckers. Two world wars and 100 million lives lost. You kraut pieces of shit are the lowest form of dog shit on earth Fuck you, fuck your country, fuck your culture. Asshole murderers.
They are ''remakeing'' alot of moveis these days and now and then do a good job of it.
THis deserves a remake ! Saveing PVT Ryan was great, If they could pull off that level of detail with the right people and the right lines they could make one hell of a new devils brigade !!!
For the record, on the wall at 0.58 there's written "To belive, to obey and to fight" that's a fascist motto. I like so much the accuracy that was used in old good war films.
At 1:06 the wall with CREDERE OBBEDERE COMBATTERE written on it can still be seen today, albeit a bit faded! About the only accurate thing in this film was the name of the town... Sant'Elia. The ruins where the tanks were located were actual WW2 bomb damaged buildings and are still in much the same condition.
@CookiesAndGuns95 Ya becouse tiger mark 1's were everywhere in the 60's ... let's see you also missed that they are wearing late war uniforms, jump boots, and that every single one of them had a thompson, and none of them caried extra mags.....
I see where Inglorious basterds got some of its inspiration (in the film you see brad pitt's character has a Devil's Brigade shoulder flash during his 100 Nazi scalp speech)
one of the German soldiers looked like me

Churchill himself praised Col. Frederick's aggressiveness and boldness. He said, "If we had had a dozen like him, we'd have smashed Hitler in 1942."

DerPrinzVonPreussen 10 months ago
@DerPrinzVonPreussen Yep, those tanks are basically M60 Pattons with the German cross on them. Very historically accurate.

I noticed there was no magazine pouches on their belts for their weapons.
What are they going to do after they fire off their first 28-30 rounds ?
Yell, " Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat ! You're dead, Heiny ! " ?
Geez, Hollywood... Make with the proper belt equipment already !

comic american movie, 100& of pure shit
smadoncina 11 months ago
Oooh for Christ's sake, that was so theatrical.
It reminds me of that one particular scene in "Yellow Submarine". This scene could make the movie pass for a comedy!
Not even "The Eagle Has Landed", "Where The Eagles Dare" and "Colonel Von Ryan's Express" would have half the silliness of this film if put together.
