We do regularly give evidence to the authorities. It rarely does any good. In Illinois, the Illinois Department of Agriculture is supposed to enforce state humane laws, yet the same Dept. of Ag. also sponsors and promotes rodeos. That kind of conflict of interest occurs widely.
As to what you can do, hitting up corporate rodeo sponsors is a great way to help rodeo victims. Our CorporateThugs website names companies and has contact info.

The department is actually sponsoring rodeos, if you can believe it. It is near to impossible to get a prosecution going here, much less a conviction. There have been numerous media reports done, but then Morehead and the dept. of ag. usually just hide out until things blow over. We will, however, keep on it.
patz: if you think the USDA is "usually good when it comes to animal welfare", you should see how they ignore the cruelty and abuse of animals in circuses and laboratories. They do almost nothing to discourage or monitor the shocking horrors that go on all the time in those venues... why should they be any different with rodeos?
I just wanted to say that myself and several other's are active in the protesting of circus animals. More severe action is needed though. The time is now.
Wait. I am just being enlightened about rodeo- and I try to buy free range meat that costs 5x as much-- but I have a family member VDM and PHD in Lab animal research. A big part of that Phd is in careful ethical treatment of animals. Research labs are highly regulated and rules are strictly and severely enforced. So don't go after the labs.

These folks get so mad at SHARK, but all they need to do is get rid of the folks violating, and the changes would fallow, and then SHARK could back off of them abit. I still believe that not all rodeo folk are bad people, but I do believe that most know about this stuff and don't stand up. If they want their "way of life" to continue, all they have to do is fallow their own rules, then I believe that the rest will fall into place.

This is a Great organization the only thing i would say is to make it more public have you tried giving these tapes to the cops? so they can get more of the animal abusers arrested for their cruel acts poor animals they deserve way more. humans are just greedy, power hungry , consumers with no apathy for any living thing except them selfs! We do regularly give evidence to the authorities. It rarely does any good. In Illinois, the Illinois Department of Agriculture is supposed to enforce state humane laws, yet the same Dept. of Ag. also sponsors and promotes rodeos. That kind of conflict of interest occurs widely.
As to what you can do, hitting up corporate rodeo sponsors is a great way to help rodeo victims. Our CorporateThugs website names companies and has contact info.

I have been in the military. I dont know what your getting at there. As for abusing animals, no I dont like it and I dont do it, although shark would have you believe otherwise. I grew up on a ranch with 1100 acers of land. I worked cows and horses, I was up every morning at 430 milking cows, by hand. I know what these animlas are capable of I know what you need to do to get there attention. The people of SHARK, and there followers are misled and misleading others to think like they do.

The department is actually sponsoring rodeos, if you can believe it. It is near to impossible to get a prosecution going here, much less a conviction. There have been numerous media reports done, but then Morehead and the dept. of ag. usually just hide out until things blow over. We will, however, keep on it.

They do almost nothing to discourage or monitor the shocking horrors that go on all the time in those venues... why should they be any different with rodeos?

Wait. I am just being enlightened about rodeo- and I try to buy free range meat that costs 5x as much-- but I have a family member VDM and PHD in Lab animal research. A big part of that Phd is in careful ethical treatment of animals. Research labs are highly regulated and rules are strictly and severely enforced. So don't go after the labs.

None have posted yet, but they will. The threats, the anger. These folks get so mad at SHARK, but all they need to do is get rid of the folks violating, and the changes would fallow, and then SHARK could back off of them abit. I still believe that not all rodeo folk are bad people, but I do believe that most know about this stuff and don't stand up. If they want their "way of life" to continue, all they have to do is fallow their own rules, then I believe that the rest will fall into place.
