Where does this song say that fathers must be straight or that adopted fathers are bad? Did I miss something? I guess we should remove the sketches that have siblings in them too to make sure that only children don't feel sad about their nonexistant siblings.

And stop whining about your own dads. Your dad was a drunk? Your childhood was bad? That is not the norm for parents. You should learn from their mistakes, and if you decide to have kids, make sure that YOU don't act the same way.

That doesn't replace the importance of fathers. My own husband's dad abandoned his family when he was 10. It was very difficult for him, but after coming to Christ, God has given him peace about this and he is an awesome father to our two children. We are very adamant about two things that we teach our children: be careful who you marry and don't have sex with anyone you're not married to. A lot of broken children could be avoided if we as responsible adults would adhere to those two things.
