  • todo el swingg ese soloo!

  • Incredible Tone and Ring.. Incredible Solo as well.. :)

  • Semplicemente (?) micidiale.

  • i can't stop watching the end solo!! damn it frank...

  • I so much love that he takes such pleasure from what he plays! How can it be anything but infectious?

  • Every time I watch this solo I cry.....

  • NIce solo at the end :)

  • oh shit!

  • Masterpiece ☺

  • Yea!! Final Fantasy 7 prelude ;-)

  • Prelude from Final Fantasy.

  • theres a hint of ff7 in that riff :P

  • Effortless

  • THANKS!!!!!!

  • I hate that sweeping shit.... where's the soul? Great technique but leave's me cold.... give me a mid 60"s Buddy Guy solo anytime over this shit.....

  • Comment removed

  • @bluejohn57 hmm as much as I understand your point. Frank plays mostly jazz, so of course one would prefer Buddy Guy over this, well cuz Buddy is blues, and not jazz. So as much as your point makes sense it is like comparing an apple to an orange.

  • @bluejohn57 Can I call you Sans Ear ?

  • i'm confused with the blues solo, i thought only are used pentatonics and blues scales, but he's using chromatisms, anyway sounds very cool

  • As a bass player I always use this arpeggio, but admittedly at 3 times slower the speed...

  • thanks 4 sharing!!! frank is awesome!

  • your pretty good

  • The Kid from Canberra ...Has done pretty good...!!!

  • Easy for you to play Frank! as you play, Maestro!

  • that little bit of blues at the end is truly amazing. one of my fave ever youtube clips. thanks frank!

  • Alot of the "happy" is gone in much of todays music. This has depth. I listen to it regularly and it makes me smile every time, and settle back in my chair, with an "aw yeah...cooool" kind of feeling. Thanks Frank, for a magical musical moment.

  • Final fantasy anyone?

  • @berserkerfunestus exactly

  • Wowwwww... don't tell me it's easy.. I kill myself!!

  • After browsing several videos on jazz arpeggios you stumble on this one and go yeh okkkkk I'll get right on that Frank lol. Seriously though that's some excellence of guitar playing happening.

  • TODOS LOS QUE HAN VOTADO EN CONTRA DEBERIAN DE MORIR!!!! SU EXISTENCIA DENIGRA A LA HUMANIDAD!

  • ill settle any disputes here.... go watch Allen Holdsworth ^^

  • @Xioaxioa10 dont think that youre the only one who knows allAn Holdsworth..learn to write his name dumbass

  • @Kraeezeu I just gotta ask. does correcting people over the internet make you feel good. ill settle another dispute here. just because you may not have the best spelling does not mean your dumb. and the fact that you have to use the name dumb ass shows how immature you really are. i never said i was the only one who knows him. so why comment huh. were in my comment did i say something insulting to you ^^

  • @Xioaxioa10 yeah, youre right. just had a really bad day

  • That solo is the sh$%!!!

  • thank you so much for this tabs mate..

  • great lesson ..... if only I had that style

  • If it's sweeply, it's good.

  • 1:53 - Eargasm... So nice/sad/sweet Great part!

  • 1:53 - Eargasm... So nice/sad/sweet Great part!

  • Gambale is a virtuoso. Damn.

  • and it just rolls......*bzzzt*

  • Last 30 seconds.. worth the price of admission...gawwwd he's good.

  • that sounds so good. He is THE master.

  • re: killermetalhead12344

i'm trying to find the videos he uploaded that put everyone else to shame but i'm having trouble locating them...maybe the internet is broke tonite!?!?!?

    ....hehe, what a douchebag

  • my face just got cramps, damn.

  • ohh, man. Frank created this shit, so dont tell me that Herman Li or Michael Angelo blabla could sweep better!!

  • F@CK, he makes it look SOOOOO easy!

  • Tha'ts Final Fantasy Epilogue...xD

  • @thehornypuppy Prelude! Bulb made a djent version of that song. awesome.

  • @dimebagcino Yeah you are right! prelude...Bulb?

  • Frank + archtop + simple amp - stereo chorus - distortion = great sound

  • One of the fastest and most melodic players of all time. His solos and improvs are unbelievable...

  • absolutely amazing very goooood he's one of the best ;-D thnx lol

  • this is the first time I see him and.......wow!

  • that solo is just wow...AMAZING...

  • That was great.

  • how the faack you do that?:S

  • amazing solo at the end

  • Dig this! Nice demo.

    MV

  • That sweet reminded me of final fantasy prelude.

  • the scale is kinda bland due to many counts of flat intervals...i thinks you should mend the two first flat into making a diminished sound rather than the reflex ed tap of the fretboard

  • does anyone have some aps 4 this

  • frank is the greatest!

  • @penguindeathmetal666 Yes! Frank is a real sweeper. Herman Li, is not. I like how a lot of kids think Herman is a "God" of sweep picking. I'm sure they don't even know who Frank Gambale is.

  • @alankmkz Do you even know dragonforce? and all the other things that make up metal. Then fuck off you preppy mainstream faggot no guitarists in the world compare to the guitarists in metal! look up speed kills 1 from michael angelo batio. we will all see who is the REAL master of sweep picking and shredding then dickhead. i think your dildo fell out of the cupboard again

  • @KillerMetalHead12344 I know MAB. He is a God. I know Dragonforce. They are the worst thing that has happened to music. Go play your plastic guitar.

  • @alankmkz haha im not sure if a bc rich wartribe is a plastic guitar the neck is smooth and the bridge has the perfect set-up for speed picking. this guy frank gambale is good and i like him not only for his good technique but hes an aussie like me but he isnt the master of sweep picking

  • @KillerMetalHead12344 Well. Maybe Frank is not the best, but to me he is the master of sweep along with Vinnie Moore for example. I like Batio, but to me, he is more the master of speed than a master of sweep technique. Jennifer Batten for example, is the master of tapping (even if EVH was the first one to use the technique). I saw a video of Herman Li sweeping, and was really sloppy. Dragonforce is more like a "studio" band for me. Never meant to offend you or anybody.

  • @alankmkz okay then well im sorry about that shit i said in my first comment

  • @alankmkz man dont stress sure that guy never been in a rec studio where ur playing need to be uber clean frank gambale is prob on of the cleanest players out there ignore the newbies they will get out of their "malmsteen" phase sumday

  • @Sawltrini Hahaha! Right!

  • @Sawltrini haha I like that. Malmsteen phase. Widdling.

  • @KillerMetalHead12344 i enjoyed that comment. being named KillerMetalHead, playing one of those horrible BC rich toys and dipshitting on a frank gambale video makes you look like the most 11-year old to ever come across

  • @burnsometrashcans would you call a 900 dollar kerry king signature warlock with the SMOOTHEST neck in the world a toy? faggots like you will never understand that metal musicians are the best in the world and girls like you that are into pop culture will never be anywhere near us

  • @KillerMetalHead12344 bahaha, yes indeed. you will be ashamed for your thinking in less than 2 years, buddy

  • @burnsometrashcans dont call me buddy you fuckwit im not your fucking buddy

  • @alankmkz true words! ignore the kiddies with the distrotion guitars and compressors. maybe they grow up some day!

  • @KillerMetalHead12344 Defending the genre with DragonForce is the worst thing you can do xD They can't even play their shit live. The players are sloppy, the lyrics and his singer does too. I like metal but as the guy above said. They're one of the worst things that has happened to music.

  • Hey the old fart can play .good lesson

  • EXCELLENT

  • "Here's how to play the final fantasy theme" should be the name of the lesson lol.

  • Sweet! FG has such a nice sound. Thanks for this video!

  • Can't get enough of his talent he is very cool to say the least

  • Gambale is IT!!!

  • that was F#@king SICK!!!! Blues Solo!!!!

  • 4 sure..............

  • What kind of guitar is that? Anyone know?

  • Once he played Ibanez - a few years ago he switched to Yamaha guitars, and this is the AES1500B model

  • he s some anthony hopkins feel

  • @catapei lol thats exactly what i was thinking. hes an awesome player tho

  • Great stuff. Thanks for the tip. I'll try this for sure.

  • 'it just rolls' - as he plays faster than lightning like its nothing lol

  • jaw drops

  • Nice to hear Frank with such a beautiful tone. His playing has become much more stylish and tasteful. One thing that put me off before was the horrible distortion he was using. This is great.

  • owh, what an amazing tones, slides

  • its like the best Ive heard all year or something

  • fuck that was an AMAZING solo!

  • how do you know when to use chromatic notes???

  • whenever you mess up!

  • jazz with blues.. ohh my..!!

  • I forgot how great Franks playing is, also it's good to hear him play some blues, of course in his own unique way.

  • what i love about frank is that he reminds you -the guitar actually has a lot of notes on it. you forget that after listening to alot of inferior rock -and blues- musicians. what a great imagination.

  • hell yeah! his fingers are walking on a cotton field...

  • dear god Gambale is insane!

  • just... amazing solo. perfect ? :)

  • yeah perfect=)

  • i think i just jizzed my pants after that JAZZ SOLO!!!

  • Think you'll ever get there?

  • wow at the blues solo!

  • hes like the most tasty fluid player you can find

  • amazing playing!!

  • WOW!

  • Sometimes it feels like jazz players just fooling around the main melody and able to produce smiles out of any kind of tunes :)

And here even appearance comes together with the music :)

  • this guy is awsome

  • That solo sounded great. Sweet phrasing awesome choice of notes.

  • are there any other tabs that aren't powertabs?

  • huh........ that blues solo sounds a lot more like jazz to me, which is better in my opinion.

  • yeah frank it really just rolls off the fingers huh....

  • wow tell me that didnt sound like FF7 theme song, nice.

  • crap you're right...

  • Incredble playing...

  • Shrekky Kruegger can shred!

  • combination between freddy kruegger and shreck

  • Very nice.

  • WOw! Frank thank you! tasty stuff! Awesome technique!

I'm not sure why you subject yourself to this kind of abuse here on BOOB tube, but thanks for giving us an opportunity to be better players and musicians! Even if some don't get it... simpering dumb asses!

  • ahhh Just shut up and Listen to the music...u make sick

  • Man that guys guitar playing makes me sick!!! But Im still trying!!!

  • loooll..... i see lots of comments saying words as "best... most.." best guitarist for sure is not shawn lane nor this dude... most chalenging style... ? what do you know? Using distortion and other effects is to not know how to play? playing guitar is not to show tricks but to do music... the better it sounds with effects the better you know about guitar and guitar sounds... PLUS distortion IS the BETTER WAY to express yourself with the guitar because of sound cap.. AND NO jaz isnt the MOSTC

  • Ya! well I'll get my dad to beat up your dad then we'll see who's better!!!

  • this is modern jazz !..

    not blues..

  • Does anyone know where i can find this DVD? The name of it?

  • The blues solo was epic. But for some reason it seemed really jazzy.

  • i don't like blues. but this was sweeeeet.

  • Comment removed

  • oh he is just too cool. :)

  • well, everthing this guy plays is a betcha cant play this

  • Whats the name of the song thats being played at the end of the video?

  • FINAL FANTASY!! HAHA ryu is right!!

  • you are wrong vai it is not at his level he said that once on an interview about why they dont invite gambale to a g3 and he said he is in a diferent level

  • epic fail

  • ha.... that has never happened... Ever... dont try to make controversy out of nowhere dude... gambale is so damn fantastic but in the case that he had been invited (WHICH DAMN!!! NEVER HAPPENED!!!!) he just happened to have a more different style A WHOLE DIFFERENT STYLE than satch, paul, steve, andy and others...

  • Keep listening kids... one day you might realize Vai & friends aren't even a pimple on Gambale's ass, and if you could get to Vai to ask him, I'm sure he'd tell you that.

  • Would you put Shawn Lane (RIP) in the same league as him?

  • yes, if not better.

  • I'm sorry- Shawn Lane was not in any way in the same league as Frank Gambale. Frank's knowledge and skill is way beyond Shawn's - Shwans was a great player, though. But the overkill with the effects was very limiting, and I have not hardly ever seen shawn play clean and show off what he knows without the advantage of effects.

  • So apparently Shawn Lane didn't spend 10 years educating himself on music, including a vast amount of music theory, which is why he improvised entire concerts without pre-planning anything, right?

Shawn used a little bit of reverb to get his own sound and some distortion, and while I will admit I don't know as much about Gambale, I can assure you Shawn Lane has a much faster and accurate alternate picking technique.

  • Frank invented sweep picking, played with Chick Corea, Alan holdsworth, Al Dimeola. That shredding stuff is not jazz. Jazz is the most challenging music one can play. Shawn could not do it, unless you can show me evidence he did. I've looked at most of his videos and he used a tremendous amount of distortion, delay, reverb- all of which enhance your playing- and cover mistakes- so we don't know how accuarate he was. He used 7-8 gage strings. He couldn't play acoustic - check the clip on here.

  • And Shawn Lane played with Jonas Hellborg and Selvaganesh, and he easily could play jazz, since all jazz is is chord based jams that you never get back. Ever.

Just look up the song "Savitri" by him on YouTube and you can easily tell the entire song is improvised and is entirely clean.

And he never used delay, wtf are you smoking? He used a little amount of reverb to make his tone a bit "wet", which isn't to cover mistakes. You only use effects to get different sounds out of your instrument.

  • Also, if you really want to find out how accurate he was, you can slow his tracks down, but if you can alternate pick stably at 18 notes per second (which he has been clocked doing without trying) I think your technique is pretty flawless. What does 7-8 gauge strings have to do with anything?

And any excellent guitarist can play acoustic, you're just being stupid.

  • Also, if you utter ANYTHING along the words of "X is the hardest music you can play" it goes to show how far your ignorance as to how music is, because you're letting opinion cloud your words. Most excellent guitarists that know theory can play jazz (and if you think he is just a shredder... LOL) as it is essentially just improvisation.

  • Guitarist had been sweeping for years before this guy was born

  • NICE SWEEPS!!!

  • Its bizzare. I'm a big Vai fan. But I actually think Franks technique is right up there. He is simply amazing - and a really good teacher.

  • I agree 100%

  • WOW!!!

  • Hes amazing.

    Quite simple.

    AMAZING.

    Hes very talented.

  • lol. 0:36

    final fantasy prelude.

  • great arpeggios. thanks ! :)

  • I wouldn't mind having his chops.......*sigh*

    side note:......Freddy Kruger?

  • his blues solo amazing! i wish i could play such stuff

  • and then just roll, omg frank, as if it is actually that easy for us humans

  • agreed. very nice solo

  • That first sweep was the FINAL FANTASY THEME SONG!
