Once again, thanks for these videos. Our bodies can hold onto negative emotions which build up and keep us from moving freely. I am self-massaging my back at the moment to see how far I can relax it and it is making such a difference. The mind and body connection cannot be ignored.

hi mgaft1 i need your help i went to the pool and i did some diving but now my shoulders and neck are rlly hurting its now almost 2 weeks like this what can i do?
Dear rikthekiller. if at the time of diving you didn't sustain any contusion than it looks like pretty severe sprain /strain. because it already painful for 2 weeks I would recommend to see a doctor. also please visit my website and read content of my self treatment DVD#1. please do not confuse with instructional DVD#1. also you can view my youtube clip" neck pain". I wish you to get well fast.
Thank you for comment.certainly humanity coming through very difficult time. todays technology in communications in details exposing us to stressful pictures.stress is much more harmful than many people thinking and relating illnesses that they are suffering from.soon will be available my self stress management massage almost a 3 hours DVD.many theoretical part and hands-on training will help you to avoid many health disturbances and will improve life quality.
I'd like to see a study comparing the effects of 15 minutes a day of massage to 15 minutes a day of hitting a punching bag. Massage is passive, the other is active.
If we REALLY care about reducing stress we should devote our energies to ending the causes, not just treating the symptoms. Obviously, it's not just those we attack who are being killed by these wars, if the wars are blamable for stress related diseases then we are killing ourselves as well. As you sow so shall you reap. End war!
Boris is on vacation at the moment, and cannot answer you at the moment, but he sure will answer you when he'll be back on Monday. You've brought up a very interesting point. Indeed why bother with managing stress? Why not eliminate the source of stress altogether and be done with it? I mean, I agree the best medicine against dandruff is a guillotine. Seriously though... Unfortunately we cannot eliminate stress.
It doesn't come only from wars, but also from poor economy, natural disasters, illnesses and death of people we love, relationship and even from your regular work.
As for physical exercise vs. stress ... the study has been done and the very thorough one.
If you are curious about the results you are welcome to read Boris' article "Stress management by Physical activities vs. Massage therapy." In the article section of our website
hitting a punching bag probably contribute mostly to angre management and much less to management of difficult stress related side effects. now days we are exposed to many sources for stress. stress phenomena must be managed and if not significant health complications can happened. Best wishes.Boris
Can do both i started as a body therapist - (doing lymphatic drainage, cranio sacral, shiatsu), i recently incorporated hypnotherapy but i feel your voice is more powerful and a voice like yours could be put to good use
Dear christyhu888.agree with you.energy work is not metaphysics.if you'll read "Science of massage and energy work" chapter from my book you'll find that I believe that even frequency of our voice vibration can make different. in my hands-on treatments energy work is not separate modality but naturally integrative component. I enjoy very much communication with you. thank you. Best wishes
Boris
PS. this coming week will be busy to teach workshops and will be not able to correspond.
Thank you very much for a nice and pleasant comment. There is no doubt hypnotherapy possesses a significant healing potential in stress management. However, stress side effects such as low threshold of baroreceptors can only be a significantly restored by stimulation through massage. The restoration of the threshold of normal (not overly sensitive) baroreceptors is the only condition for normalization of stress related hypertension and more.
All proprioceptors (free nerves endings) located in skin, muscles and fascia carry electrical potentials that during the time of massage will be activated and will initiate stream of electrical impulses to stimulate nervous centers inducing positive changes. Many studies show that hypnotherapy plays a significant supportive role in stress management, but the power of massage as a reflexive therapy is undeniable.
My statement is built on almost 36 years of research and clinical work experience. Stress imposes a debilitating effect on the human population and must be addressed. This is the reason why I produced self-stress management massage DVD. I think that it will be interesting for you to read my article "Clinical psychology and massage therapy" that can be found on my webside.
Dear Hadba123. I don't think that massage can help somehow in cases as you describe. If some therapist will promise you such results you should think twice before to agree for such massage procedure. Best wishes.
Hello Mr. prilutsky. This is an amazing video. I have been using regular lotion to massage friends and family, but i would like to know if there is a specific lotion or oil i should use.
Thank you very much for nice comment. usually lotions, oil and other lubrication used for prevention of skin irritation. however some specific techniques like connective tissue massage( fascia release) we performing with no lubrication. I don't know a lot about skin-care products but assuming that there is a lot of good stuff. I personally use simple lotion for all types of skin. honestly lubrication play not significant role in achieving result. Best wishes
This is perfect! Thank you very much, Mr. Prilutsky.
I am not a trained masseuse but I sometimes give massage to my friends (they say that I am good at it), and I like your videos really very much, and I have now seriously started to think of getting a formal education and/or training on massage and work as a masseuse.
Dear Metafrastria. I'm glad to inspire you to choose career in most beautiful and humanize health care profession. Good luck and thank you for a nice comment.
Besides I would like to tell, that I think, that Mr. Boris is the best massager I've ever seen. I get quite destressed from barely looking at the video.
It's true, that sometimes he's a little hard to understand -because of the accent- nonetheless I believe, that no one can be of doubt, that he really knows what he is speaking about.
You are doing a hell of a job, so keep up the good work.
