Why can't the many fighting game companies ever do this? They could split the earnings between them, but if they put all their characters in one "Licensed" fighting game like Mugen they would all be rich. Who WOULDN'T buy that game, regardless of what console it was on? I guess it would take a lot of time and effort to make look right. Mugen is a little "off", but it's still a great idea which was surely rank in millions of not Billions of dollars.
