Nice job dude. What's that chord you hit at 1:30? It looks like a regular F# chord played in the rest of the chorusk but I can't tell with the effects you use. I didn't notice til you play it, but that is the way they play it on the album, with the effects (phaser+flanger or pitch shifter I am assuming).

@shawndub01 Yeah everything that isn't played with distortion is a Boss PH-2 plus delay, with the phaser before the delay in the effects chain

@GuitarKid581 If I remember correctly, the PH-2 was set at Mode 1, Rate 1 o'clock, Depth 2 o'clock, Res 3 o'clock, and the MXR knob was maxed.

@GuitarKid581 The PH-2 is more natural sounding than the PH-3 I think, but you can still make it sound pretty close. You'll have to use the 10-stage phaser mode on the PH-3, I'm not sure exactly what the other knobs should be set to, you'll have to mess with it for a bit.

The PH-2 is what you hear in the intro and verses of the song. The Phase 90 is only used for about a second at a time during the chorus when Brandon is saying, "and rise above the flames."

Nope, guitar into the pedal board into the amp. The effects loop on the MG100HDFX makes the sound of the pedals overpowering, guitar sounds a little too washed out.

Delay is delay. A delay pedal will take what you play and repeat it at set intervals, they all do the same thing. Phasers sound completely different from brand to brand, that's why we make the distinction. If you must know, we use a Boss DD-6. But it will give you the same sound as a DD-3, RV-3 (which is what Mike uses), or whatever other delay pedal you are using.

hey man, i finally got a PH-3 i'll get the Super Phaser for sure down the road. but i'm pretty pleased with this one. what are some of the settings your using? at the moment i've got rate clocked at about 10, depth at max and resonance at 12. all on a 4 step phase any suggestions past that? (as in like is that anywhere near what you got there? hah) great cover man keep it up :P

To get close to the PH-2 sound, you'd need to have it on 10 stage, with all the knobs somewhere close to 12 o'clock. It won't sound exact but it's pretty close.

If you have multiple pedals, the cheapest (and best way, in my opinion) to power them is a daisy chain. All modulation effects eat up battery power like nothing else, so why not power them all with one handy cable?

Your english is perfectly fine man. As for Make Yourself, you're going to want a Boss PH-2, MXR Phase 90, and some kind of delay. If you want to get really specific, you'll want an octave pedal as well.

Well, as far as distortion goes, I would recommend not using any pedals. They just tend to muck it up with digitized noise. My amp is a Marshall MG100 HDFX. It's a solid state, but it's a Marshall so the tone is still there. The key to clean distortion, on any amp, is to keep the gain fairly low on your overdrive channel.

Man what apm do u use? or what distortion do u use?? I can't find a clean distortion like yours in my amp.. I have an spider II Line 6 , but I think it was made just for Slipknot fans because all distortions won't sound as clean as yours for playing incubus chords.. what d0 u recomend??
