@westlife2cfc Definitely not to the first. And the first comes with the second. I've done daily training with mine since he was... well exactly the same age and size as the one in this video, and he still doesn't listen all the time. They also require a huge amount of exercise.

@westlife2cfc It's a hit and miss. It all depends on the personality of your husky. Huskies are REALLY smart dogs and most that I've seen have been well trained by average people (one of them being me :) ). My mom's dog, Isabella, was trained how to sit, lie down, sit pretty (My version of standing on hind legs), and come in two months. But, again, it depends on the individual personality of the dog. You must be stern with your commands to let him/her know who is boss and he/she will learn quick

@Benfaidae Most likely will run. I have had a husky for 12 years now and if I'm outside with her she always has a leash or a long cable so she has more room to run. Anytime she has gotten loose, she'll be gone a few hours and then returns. But huskies are naturally runners. Never think that a husky is so well trained that it would go against it's natural instinct to run. Keep the husky fenced in or on a leash and exercise regularly (a lot more often than any other dog).

Everyone kept saying not to get a husky because they are too challenging to train, which made me excited because I love a challenge...but I was kinda dissapointed. All my dogs are the most amazing dogs ever...but from experience as a dog walker and owner...toy dogs are much harder to work with.

Can someone please tell me how high a husky pup can jump, my fence is currently 6ft and i'm going to get it higher but i'm afraid mine will jump over it, hes currently 7 months old, same size as this one, how high do they jump at this age?

@TallRobby dont worry about how high worry about him digging under my husky kuta (wolf in phillipen) dug hole so deep under my fence every day that i had to fill it weith cement and he maneged to dig a bit of that!!! I LOVE the breed but there hard to train but if trained properly they can live a happy and llong life. mine lived to be 17 in human

@TallRobby when they get older you'll want like an 8foot high fence.put logs at the bottom of it to keep them from digging under it. The highest my own husky has jumped is around five feet,  but you wont want to risk it. At his age a 6foot fence should be fine, and MIGHT be alright when he is older.

@hotandhunky454 well let me correct you. not only huskys dig holes in your yards all dogs do. if the husky runs away form you something caught its attention like all other dogs. my husky knows how to sit give me a paw and actually both paws knows how to jump and is very clever. All dogs rip up your house when there young. Husky's are very trainable you just have to know how to deal with them and have patience! They are very smart as well as friendly not good watch dogs but great with family kids

@RRYANWATT They are ok with children especially if they grow up with them (just like cats). But NEVER leave a child alone with a husky. Last year there was a story of a husky that killed a toddler because it was left alone and the toddler most likely aggravated the dog. As long as your kids know how to behave with animals (e.g. not hit or aggravate), then it'll be fine. Huskies are incredibly loving dogs and in my opinion, the best kind there is.
