I'm not saying he doesn't like working on MGS, it's just that he wants to work on other stuff and take a long break from Metal Gear. He started a series that he could never walk away from. If your wondering where did I get this information, it was from an interview with Kojima from Playstation Magazine.
All the people complaining about this game: IT'S A FREAKING SPIN-OFF! It's not related to the main series, and Kojima has said it from the start. So if you want it buy, don't want it ignore it.
Keep in mind people, this is raiden's story, he's kick ass being a frontal assault guy while snake can snap your neck without you even knowing he's there.

I'm kind of in the middle with this I mean i'm a big fan of MGS half of me thinks this isn't stealth anymore so whats the point but then again how could it be a stealth game with Raiden now anyway he can break dance with 2 robots on his legs while being stabbed 10 times so wouldn't be any point in stealth lol. To me, this is a huge middle finger to me and appeals to you because you obviously don't like the original concept of stealth. This game isn't an "alteration", its a completely different game. Honestly, this isn't anything groundbreaking. It looks like Gow/DMC/Bayonetta with maybe a bit of AssCreed wallrunning and a good story (going by MGS history). Sad too, it had potential. Why are the soldiers attacking him with knives and taking multiple hits like cartoon enemies? I was expecting Raiden to be able to wade through hundreds of footsoldiers easily, it would better convey his strength and make for something new.
I'll probably still play it but it's not really Metal Gear.
I have always loved MGS and have always been a huge fan. And sure, there isn't any sneaking and blah blah but God damn if I'm not going to play and most likely fall in love with this game. Hideo Kojima is not ruining the franchise, he is simply allowing his fans to play from all perspectives and enjoy every possible aspect. Relax, guys, it's probably a lot of fun.
Im sure if this game was called anything other than "metal gear" in its title, people would be like AWESOME! but cos it says metal gear, fans feel like it should be comparable to the rest of the franchise. the truth is when we were playing MGS4 and watched that scene with raiden vs vamp. Im pretty sure we would have thought a game with just raiden as ninja would have been amazing. So cheer up guys it might still be really fun :D
Seriously the game is not even out and already so much hate for it I'm an MGS fan but I still wanna give this a shot. Sure no sneaking and no snake (which granted I love to death because it keeps me on the edge of my seat and he was such an amazing charater) but I think the hack and slash fits Raiden better. Lesson here is play the game people, then you can love it or hate it.

This game had so much potential to add sneaking elements in it, yet it turned into a hack and slash game -_- sure infuse action sequences in turn with stealth and this game might be good. To all of you Metal Gear Solid fans out there who are disliking all of these Metal Gear Rising videos, stop wasting your time. Metal Gear Rising (MGR) and Metal Gear Solid (MGS) are two completely different things. Just because it has Metal Gear in it's name, doesn't mean it will be exactly like the other games. Take a look at Metal Gear Acid, it's not the same, but it's still a Metal Gear game! So stop wasting your time, you don't have to dislike the videos you don't like.

Keep in mind people, this is raiden's story, he's kick ass being a frontal assault guy while snake can snap your neck without you even knowing he's there.
This game makes me want to go and get a PS3 again to play this lol. XD

I'm kind of in the middle with this I mean i'm a big fan of MGS half of me thinks this isn't stealth anymore so whats the point but then again how could it be a stealth game with Raiden now anyway he can break dance with 2 robots on his legs while being stabbed 10 times so wouldn't be any point in stealth lol. But that questions is it really a MGS game or just some attempt to makes fans buy (which they will no doubt) this game and waste there money.

@killersheaven82 you clearly did not play metal gear solid growing up. I fell in love with the dynamic story and stealth way of playing. This game has none of these. To me, this is a huge middle finger to me and appeals to you because you obviously don't like the original concept of stealth. This game isn't an "alteration", its a completely different game. The reason people are going "crazy" is simply because this is not metal gear solid, this is sonic the hedgehog on steroids.

@ianka954 omg you fuking ass hole OBSERVE MORE the gameplay is made different for raidens new abilities, its fast paced stealth not slow paced, you dont know what the story could turn out to be like as you haven't seen any yet, the strategy is in what you and how you move through and area and take care of your enemies and there is a shit load of passion in those combos

Honestly, this isn't anything groundbreaking. It looks like Gow/DMC/Bayonetta with maybe a bit of AssCreed wallrunning and a good story (going by MGS history). Sad too, it had potential. Why are the soldiers attacking him with knives and taking multiple hits like cartoon enemies? I was expecting Raiden to be able to wade through hundreds of footsoldiers easily, it would better convey his strength and make for something new.
I'll probably still play it but it's not really Metal Gear.

I have always loved MGS and have always been a huge fan. And sure, there isn't any sneaking and blah blah but God damn if I'm not going to play and most likely fall in love with this game. Hideo Kojima is not ruining the franchise, he is simply allowing his fans to play from all perspectives and enjoy every possible aspect. Relax, guys, it's probably a lot of fun.

Im sure if this game was called anything other than "metal gear" in its title, people would be like AWESOME! but cos it says metal gear, fans feel like it should be comparable to the rest of the franchise. the truth is when we were playing MGS4 and watched that scene with raiden vs vamp. Im pretty sure we would have thought a game with just raiden as ninja would have been amazing. So cheer up guys it might still be really fun :D

Seriously the game is not even out and already so much hate for it I'm an MGS fan but I still wanna give this a shot. Sure no sneaking and no snake (which granted I love to death because it keeps me on the edge of my seat and he was such an amazing charater) but I think the hack and slash fits Raiden better. Lesson here is play the game people, then you can love it or hate it.

LOL I'm getting this game and I'm gonna enjoy it. I personally think it might be fun to ninja about as Raiden, I don't think the Fox Engine would be able to handle such rapid movements and fast-paced action. Either way, MGS5 is to be on it's way soon enough to the people that aren't gonna get this game.

But just..WHY! This game had so much potential to add sneaking elements in it, yet it turned into a hack and slash game -_- sure infuse action sequences in turn with stealth and this game might be good. Its just an over hyped, bad hollywood-style action story with transformer Metal Gear Rays and gore -_-.

To all of you Metal Gear Solid fans out there who are disliking all of these Metal Gear Rising videos, stop wasting your time. Metal Gear Rising (MGR) and Metal Gear Solid (MGS) are two completely different things. Just because it has Metal Gear in it's name, doesn't mean it will be exactly like the other games. Take a look at Metal Gear Acid, it's not the same, but it's still a Metal Gear game! So stop wasting your time, you don't have to dislike the videos you don't like.

The MGS meets with Devil may cry, Batman arkham city, tekken, bad lsd trip and bf3. The last game mentioned doesn't contribute to gameplay, just reflects the flop level and disappointment of the fan base...
