You know I used to a big believer in Eiji Aonuma, since Majora's Mask and Wind Waker were two of my favorite games. But after the snooze fest that was Twilight Princess and the literal train-wreck of Spirit Tracks, I began to seriously lose faith in the man. But the worst offense by far is that he's never even beaten, and has admittedly very little of the two original 8-bit Zeldas. So really, he doesn't understand what made Zelda a phenomenal success to begin with!

Even though I'm enjoying this game so far, I 100% agree with you that Zelda needs Miyamoto back.

Actually, I take that back. Miyamoto should produce the Zelda games, but you know who I think should direct? Yoshiaki Koizumi, the guy they have in charge of the Mario series now. When he started at Nintendo the first thing he did was write the story to Link to the Past, forming the legends of goddesses et al., then going on to write Link's Awakening and OoT.

I mean really...the whole series doesn't have a developed concept except for shooting random stuff, so why bother?

Skyward Sword has built up on a WONDERFUL concept and each game in the series is the sequel to a game of a prequel to it.

@haiitsfailtacular I bought MW3 at the midnight release, after my brother convinced me to get it. I was'nt very excited for it and did'nt mind at the least to wait for it. For LoZ:SS on the other hand, I was trembling in my seat with anticipation every second I thought of how I had to wait another week before coming back from Louisiana for the holidays to make an ever so emotional and regressive purchase. By far, this should be the game of the year. Skyrim has a slim chance in my opinion.

@chrysenthenum2 Not too sure about MW3 and games like it (rather, why they are so liked), but I find it very easy to be immersed in FPS games. I don't know why simple war games and such are so popular, but I can see why Bioshock, Fallout, and Deus Ex are so popular. The FPSRPG games are my personal favorite. Not to say Zelda's bad in anyway, but then again its like comparing apples to oranges when you compare it to bioshock.
