what really annoys me about this book, (eclipse) is that Bella falls in love with Jacob as well. The story is about Edward and Bella and here comes Jacob. It pissed me off so much that she was thinking about choosing Jacob and how she told him in his room that what is the worst part of not choosing him is that she wanted that life. WHAT THE HELL! Edward is so much better man! she is a bitch after that. HMM i hope they make jacob evil and she despises him because i dont want her choosing him.
Edward Cullen is a gentleman. He probably felt that it was the gentlemanly thing to do, seeing as to how Bella has made up her mind, and Jacob still loves her. Although, there is something about Eclipse that makes me mad.... Edward tells Jacob that if Bella choose him, he would let her go. I really wanted to scream at him exactly what Bella did, "FIGHT, DAMMIT FIGHT! (with my extra- WOULD YOU PLEASE FUCKING FIGHT FOR HER!)
he did that because he wanted to help Jacob and give him a choise to see Bella happy and because Edward thought it was the right thing to do for Bella and Jacob.........
I think he wanted to give Jacob a choice whether or not to come to the wedding because Edward would have wanted the same for himself if it had been Jacob's wedding.
The and maybe he wanted to give Bella one last chance to choose Jacob over himself.
Like he said, Edward would have wanted the same chance. Maybe he thought it would help him see that Bella was really with Edward, that it was over.
And Jacob did end up coming to the wedding, so Edward was right.

but I don't think he really intended it to hurt Jacob, I hope not anyway.
