amazing work Pete !! ...dont worry abt a few comments abt plagiarism ...its usual ...some guys r just cynical - can never appreciate ...so keep up the good work .....I hope you work on more Indian movies !!!
cheers :) .... you know what? It's been about a year since I started working on that feature and I still haven't seen it! I should be coming back to AP (Hyd) at the end of March / start of April so, if it's come out on BluRay or DVD, I'll be able to buy a copy (unless they are still showing it somewhere, which I highly doubt).
hi pete nice to see ur reply . i liked ur crowd Choreography it was awesome . did u use any plugins to control the particle system? u used PF source . any plugins u used especially for crowd simulation?
no, it was an "out of the box" system I designed so that it could be easily amended as I had very little time to set up the shots so needed the ability to be customised on the fly. It was a simple case of understanding basic crowd rules, like birds flocking - find the flock, find the closest person, stay away from the closest person, if a predator / terrain comes within view then get out of the way. Adhere to these rules and the flock will behave with some "intelligence" :)
every work was excellent but entire thing is depended on match move u r great ur work was awesome buddy . I saw ur VFX show reel it created greate impact on me and chained my mind to meet international standards . before that i used to just think to satisfy local people with my work but i was inspired with ur works. defenatly i try to maintain standard in my work with ur inspiration .
hi pete my self iam aslo an VFX artist in telugu movies . UR work is amazing . Iam also 3dsmax , maya and Fusion user. i was amazed how u maintained mesh in 3dsmax and i liked the
PFlow birds at the top the palace. and the texturing work is aslo excellent .
DID u participated in 3d tracking and match moving?
Cheers - the main modelling & texturing of the stadium & city environments were handled by Adel Adili; my main role was to ensure that this was correctly integrated into the live action by establishing relevant pipelines for the rendering and matchmove. I also acted as quality control for the matchmove team at EFX to ensure that there were no slips, after which EFX handled it internally after I left India once my initial visit was finished in April.
AWESOME! I am glad to see this video. I congratulate to be a part of the most successful movie in Tollywood (telugu) cinema. It is my most favorite movie of course for the sake of VFX, music and every bit of the movie. Really your job is splendid. Please upload more videos of your work associated with Magadheera.
Come on guys, is Pete Draper!!! what would you expect from him???
Pete, you're one of the most important CG artists i've ever seen, i wish you the best for your life, cheers and thx for sharing your knowledge with us...
Awesome work Pete!! I've seen the movie and liked the vfx a lot... specially the stadium shots.. they were simply superb.. btw i have a small question for you.. I am a fresher in the field (chk out my reel) and would like to know wht system you had used for the birds, crowd & army simulation and also for compositing?
cheers for the kind comments guys - was a cool feature to work on with a good crew :) ... thought I still haven't seen it myself! I got back to the UK about one week before it premiered in Hyderabad and the only place I found (at the time) that showed it in the UK was 500KM away from where I live! Hoping to get back to India soon; hopefully it will still be playing by then!
