  • my violin is VERY orange that it almost look like red. is that good or bad?

  • My violin looks like the one on the right!!! Interesting info!! :D

  • Interesting. Almost like comparing fine wines. Thanks for the series Kevin.

    ?;^D

  • Hello, I have 2 questions: 1. If you paint your violin in black, does that affect the wood and so on? Can you make your violin black or other colours and still protect the sound, wood and the other characteristics of the violin? 2. If you have an ok violin (not too cheap, not to expensive), after years of playing and aging, will that violin "improve" her sound and other characteristics such as to become like a more expensive violin for example? Thank you!

  • Hi, I'm a big fan of your videos. I have a fairly good violin and I was wondering if you could give me your take on it. If you agree and have time, I'll send the pictures right away to an e-mail account.

    Thanks so much,

    Charles W.

  • What color is my violin? (channel background)

  • @Nicolasduca Based on the images, your violin look to be somewhere between an orange and honey color.

  • This series is spoilt entirely by the intrusion of the background string music which leaps in and out irritatingly in between the verbal descriptions. This is the equivalent of the typical intrusive and unnecessary loud rock that people seem to think we want included in any youtube upload. Just because the subject is violins we don't need wallpaper music to hold our attention! You've ruined an otherwise excellent presentation.

  • These videos are wonderful thanks!

  • one of my violins has a dark natural finish with all ebony fittings i want to replace all of them with either perbamuco or rose would, which one would you recommend as a Luther

  • what song is used as the background music for this video.

  • Antonio Vivaldi, "Allegro" from Concerto for Strings and Harpsichord in G Major.
