  • I love this video!

Very cool how the guy did that to him, very smart.

  • His voice is nice and deep :) This video is kinda creeping me out because I'm so used to him not speaking. Did any of you know that he's 60? I can't believe it but it says so on like 3 different web sites.

  • HE CAN TALK HE CAN TALK !!

  • like the comments b4 this, yea he speaks...and like jookiyaya said, he sounds intellectual....maybe he does speak when he got some good arguments, lol....

    c",)

  • It's so odd to actually see and hear him speak lol

  • Not only is this badass because Teller is talking, it's baddass because of what happened. That was cool. :D

  • I have his autograph on my wall and he definitely spoke to me when I got it.

  • Beautiful...:o

  • he says "fuck" a lot less than penn

  • isnt penn gonna try and kill him now like on the simpsons?

  • omg! first time ever i've heard his voice!

  • fooling a magician by pretending to do slights is awesome! and tellers voice is cool

  • but finding the answer is a good thing

  • He used to be a teacher.

  • Teller got owned :).

  • or finding out that girls poop.

  • Lol, it's like magicians are magical to normal people, and normal things are magical to magicians.

  • yeah, hearing him talk is worse than having a magic trick revealed, lol.

But even though Karam used reverse psychology on teller, to trick him, all the rest of the audience were probably like, ".....um.....what?"

  • wow he talks, I thought the guy was mute

  • OH MY GOD TELLER IS SPEAKING....freaaaaaky......

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it makes sense for him to sound intellectual, he taught latin.

  • Teller speaks! Awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • (me-->):-O.....:-S......what the hell, holy shit. I am stunned to freeze in a few seconds.

As many others have mensioned....he DOES speak. :-O!

  • Whoa, I always imagined Teller would have a totally - squeaky voice. ;P

  • I imagined his voice being somewhat higher pitched.

  • you know hes 60!

  • i remember renting this movie from netflix

    it was great

  • UMM.......I DONT GET IT

  • yo, the trick the dude does is actually amazing, he takes the ball out obviosuly then sneaks it in discretely. you can tell he puts it back in when the cup closest to us is lifted up. watch

  • He speaks?!? :sob: My existence is meaningless...what next, will we find out Dr. Phil's not a DOCTOR? Heaven forbid!

  • What a great video, thank you :)

  • Sorry, it's 5am and I got confused about the description. Thanks for the other link!

  • What's with the description saying he's talking with a "cockney accent". That is his regular voice, he's not doing an accent and he's not British, so...

  • where did you get this from?

    its fantastic!

  • fuk he spoke i swear he lyk neva speeks wtf??

  • hearing him speak is like watching one of their amazing shows, simply astounding

  • Like you never seen the Simpsons episode with Penn and Teller in it. Who do you think was doing the voice of Teller?

  • Yessss

  • cool video, thanks!

  • LMFAO. Oh God that was hilarious. Thumbs up to you.

  • HE SPEAKS

  • He has a nice voice...

  • he talks

  • Or to the saw trick.

  • I was expecting a far different voice from what I just heard...

  • it's like a bigfoot/ ufo/ loch ness sighting. unbelievable.

  • yeah i loved the slight of hand video on here...reminds me of that dumb magician valentino on all those fox magic revealed specials...p&t have been showing their tricks for years before that show was around.

  • I've heard him talk before but never this much. Only a couple things here and there.

  • Hookah is just flavored tobacco. I wish he would speak more on Bullshit.

  • Forty-two

  • It's funny, he kind of sounds like Les Stroud.

  • I agree completely. Curse this video. I will now banish this form my memory forever.

  • Lol, that's brilliant.

  • That's awesome, a trick tailored solely for the one guy in front of him.

I like how everyone else is in a kind of "wtf, so what" silence, while Teller giggles like a loon in the middle.

Also the obligatory: Holy crap, Teller speaks!

    :D

  • Cockney accent? New England, I´d say.

  • Sounds alot like Ray Liotta.

  • lol, Yeah, I am very surprised too that he actually speaks. But it is still a cool video.

  • He's like Gordon Freeman.

  • I'm glad to hear his voice- the only other time I heard it was on the simpsons

  • It's true, he does speak. I had an actual conversation with him when I met him in 2001. He is an extremely nice guy. This clip is from Penn and Teller's Magic and Mystery Tour DVD. It is an interesting watch, but not conventional Penn and Teller-style entertainment.

  • what a great clip. I love teller for his love of magic. It consumes him like it consumes me.

  • He has a cute Philadelphia accent.

  • I always thought his voice would be more high pitched and cartoon like. Never knew he had a deep serious voice.

  • this video is a nice little insight into a magician's mind. pretty cool and humorous ;]

  • AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! You ruined it!

    Zooty zoot zoot

  • holy shit he does speak lol.

  • Well of course he CAN talk, he just chooses not to!

  • He must have been smoking Hooka

  • smoking hooka? a hooka is device used for smoking a substance called sheesha(parden my mispelling of that word). now tell me, wheres the hooka?

  • what does smoking hookah have to do with anything, its just tobacco

  • That is amazing. I wish a fellow magician would fool me like that. I wouldn't be able to stop laughing. haha. Man...... thats awesome.

  • you're a magician

  • great man

  • this was so exciting for me...I linked it to like 10 different people. HE SPEAKS!!

  • wow his voice is deeper than anticipated

  • i gotta say he sounds intellectual for his voice hehe

  • He did go to Amherst College, the number one college in the nation for several years running.

  • he IS intellectual. that might be why he sounds that way. ;)

  • He is intellectual, in terms of magic is one of the few people that knows history of magic..

  • yo he sounds pretty intellectual.. more than penn LOL

  • He used to be a Latin professor.

  • penn sounds intelecutal, if you lissen to what he says.

  • Teller is an absolute gentleman with a lot of kindness in his heart. If you want proof, ask the folks that ran the Desert Bus for Hope pledge drive.

  • He is pretty intellectual, he was a proffesor before he met Penn. (of Latin IIRC)

  • Cute. Cute. First time I've ever heard him speak was to me in person. Really cool.

    <3

  • Teller's a nice guy, I've talked to him before.

  • teller pwns ^^

  • I love the way that Teller is the only one to applaud a trick that was done purely to "take him in". I see nothing offensive in his description of a fabulous illusion.

  • I just love the way that Teller is the only one who applauds. I see nothing offensive in his description of a fabulous illusion designed to "take him in".

  • Teller!Yay!

  • Whoa! I never thought he actally talked. I feel really stupid now.

  • That trick is AMAZING.

  • To ElleNelly: I know, weird isn't it?

    -Teller Rocks!!!-

  • Awesome.

  • I was hoping it would be high pitch

  • lol owned

  • aAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH HELP TELLER SPEAKS SHIT THIS IS UNBEARABLE FUCCCCCCCCK

He sounds like Chris Pontius. ;U

  • Wow, that's unreal. I don't know what I expected as his voice, but it wasn't that.

  • Holy shit!

  • somebody talking, but not teller for sure...!!

    teller cannot talk...

  • Teller does not speak while performing yes, but what makes you think he never speaks?

  • ha ha! The guy KNEW what Teller was doing!

  • He really is the nicer one of the two.

  • Isn't he (Karam) simply just feigning stealing the balls? Am I missing something?

  • Yes Karam is feigning stealing the balls, but it was cleverly done because it fooled Teller into thinking the balls really were being moved. Karam played games with Teller's inside knowledge, hence Teller's great appreciation for the trick.

  • i wanna see the entire film if it is a film or a documentary but would love to see the Magic & Mystery Tour with P&T, love those guys and bullshit and every thing they do almost, their true american heros and people don't give them enough credit for it

  • I never imagined his voice sounding that masculine. I always imagined him having a really wimpy voice.

  • He actually made a fool out of that poor magician.

  • holy shit he does talk

  • lol, cool voice

  • Dear Teller, I cant stop thinking of you -ellen

seriously, isnt he just the hottest??

  • haha!! i soo agree he's 60 and i got the hots for him :P!!!

  • His voice is that deep? xD Damn

  • Wow, I always wondered what Teller sounded like.

  • I kinda imagined that his voice would be really squeaky and thats why he didnt talk

  • same.

    and why are ratings disabled.

  • Yea, his voice is a lot different than I imagined it.

  • No, delightfully, he has a really sexy voice.

  • haha nah. Teller's muteness is just part of his persona, just like Penn is so boisterous and outgoing.

  • Me too. I like the way he sounds, but I also like the way he doesn't talk all that often. It lends an air of mystery to his persona, of sorts.

  • He stopped talking because when he was working solo he discovered that it shut up hecklers if he refused to speak. Penn on the other hand got louder to intimidate hecklers. So when they got together they each just carried over their style of dealing with hecklers and it turned into part of the act.

  • Cool, I learned a new magic fact.

  • Somebody's been stealing knowledge off wikipedia :p

  • See Teller talking about watching 'Bullshit' on Youtube here!

    watch?v=8iJ-m6e-F-I

  • The first time I heard Teller talk was on the Daily Show when it was still hosted by Craig Kilbourne. He was on with Penn of course. Craig would ask his quest 5 questions at the end of an interview and his fifth question for them was why does Teller never talk, to which Teller responded Fuck You Craig.

  • First time I heard Teller talk was toward the end of the movie, "Penn & Teller Get Killed."

  • if i rember right teller thought pen everything he knows when it comes to magic

  • No. Sorry but this is wrong. Teller studied Sleight of Hand and Pantomime. Penn learned stage illusions and carnival tricks. When they met they combined their seperate knowledge, and learned from each other.

  • i so got a thing for teller and he is like 41 years older than me, wow...still hot :D

  • ditto that!

  • ROFL, funny how some can't tell the difference between not wanting to talk and not being able. And the foreigner comment is irrelevant "ManWhoKilledHitler".

  • Teller is clearly being ironic and making fun of his own original attitude which he later changed in this "offensive" comment.

  • is that really him?

  • yup.

  • i agree. isnt that so typical of americans as well. ive been called a foreigner on the net by an american as well, whilst sitting in my house in the city i was born in. dont most of them have trouble identifying even their own country on a world map?

  • Great video but Teller's comment that he just wanted be nice to this "foreign guy" is a little offensive. Teller needs to be reminded he was the foreigner in that country.

  • He said "I'll be nice to this guy from this foreign country". I fail to see how that's offensive.

  • He didn't say that.

  • "of concern to or concerning the affairs of other nations (other than your own); 'foreign trade'; 'a foreign office'" Sounds alright, and you know what he meant.

  • He said "I'll be nice to this guy from this foreign country". Which means, "I'll be courteous because I'm his guest".

And the entirety of his telling is nothing but adulation for the guy and his skills. It's kind of dumb to play the semantic policeman and look for offense everywhere.

  • Teller wasn't saying that he was actually trying to be nice to the guy because he was foreign. He was playing the rube, and pretending to be nice to the guy because he was foreign, as part of the deception. The Egyptian obviously saw through it.

  • you sound like you know what you are talking about but I still have trobule understanding what happened even after your explanation, would you mind explaining it to me in simpler terms?

  • Holy hell, he talks.

  • lmao Same thing I thought.

  • WOW!! Teller is not deaf and mute...he can TALK!! yeah!!

  • Wow, his voice is alot deeper than I though it would be. I thought he would sound a little more...milquetoast.

  • i agree that is amazing,, the ball and cup trick they do do they use the same strategy?

  • Oh man, this is like catching my parents hiding Christmas presents under the tree all over again. Well, that's not true. I know he speaks, though I choose not to think about it. Maybe this video is more like catching my parents getting frisky in the sack.

  • This is awesome. Fooling Teller is no small feat, and I don't think he realized what he'd done, as Teller was 'playing the sucker' for his 'benefit'.

  • It was quite honorable that Teller gave his respect for a fellow illusionist.

  • ! TELLER IS TALKING! OMG!

  • Wow. He does talk after all!

  • Why he never talks on their show ?

  • It's his trademark.

  • He learned a while ago that if he remained perfectly silent throughout his act, then people would refrain from heckling him and would pay closer attention to the trick he was doing.

  • <3 awesome

  • that was genius!

  • If you look carefully you can see the magician place the ball back into the cup closest to the camera directly after palming, however he was very impressive and had me fooled.

  • That was really interesting.

  • He's got a great voice.

  • Hahaha, I once told my brother I thought he was cute! ;]

  • I thought he was dumb!

  • I thought he was dumb!

  • Teller talks all the time, but you may not know it.

Sure, in their act, his lips don't move, but in P&T's Las Vegas show, not only does Teller to the pre-recorded narrating, at the Intermission & after the show, you can meet P&T in person in the lobby and Teller will talk up a storm with you.

  • Holy crap! He DOES talk!

  • Well now we know he is capable of talking.

  • teller talked !!! im gonna tell penn ooo he is in trouble

  • DUDE!

    O.O

  • The very first time I have ever seen him talk.

  • thats nothing to be compared to the ancient Egyptian magic

    good vid :)

  • I met Teller and he talked to me and I had a little spazz attack. I love him!!!!

  • Teller talks!!

  • He does guest commentaries on NPR fairly regularly. He also has had several speaking roles as an actor, including the feature-length film "Penn & Teller Get Killed." The bigger mystery is, "What is Teller's full name?" Well, it's Teller, as he had it legally changed. Even his driver's license reads "NFN Teller" (the "NFN" signifying "no first name"). His birth name, however, was Raymond Joseph Teller, if you're curious.

  • His passport also says NFN Teller and this causes issues when he travels.

  • Teller talking WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?

  • I FELT THE SAME WAY!!!

he's even silent in their magic acts because when i went to vegas me and my dad saw them because im a fan of Bullshit and teller still didnt talk...

  • hes hawt.

  • I found out who Penn and Teller are through the internet and they are GREAT. Their program should be dubbed into Spanish and aired here, political opinions included. By the way, did Teller really taught Latin?

  • Are you talking about "Bullshit"? I live in the UK and it was never showed here - I had to buy the DVDs from the States.

And yes, he did teach Latin! :)
