as the previous poster said. 22lr. The bore looks large is because they are using what they call is a bloop tube which is just a hollow piece of aluminum which extends the barrel length to give a little more acuracy.
The rifles are built for acuracy. They weigh about 12 pounds or slightly lighter.
Try holding one for 1 min while trying to sight in on a pencil eraser sitting 50ft out.
