Why are you even arguing? All these punk bands are a lot more interconnected than many of you seem to realise. Many of them are friends. Covering each others songs in that context isn't new. Take Bad Religion and Sublime as an example. In this case, the No Doubt cover version was produced by the Vandals guitarist Warren Fitzgerald, and thanks to the popularity of the No Doubt cover, the Vandals re-released their '96 album "Oi! To the World", in 2000. Both bands toured together and were close.
