  • iNCREDIBLE!

  • Kid: "so andriods are better than humans?"

Data: "yes, would you like me to upgrade your cerebrum to cyborg levels?"

kid: "yeah! When do I start?"

Data: (churp churp) leforge, I must ask that you put barkley on that, there are problems with the replicators" (leforge: well... alright, but you owe me some overtime in engeneering") "let's go to the lab" 2 hours lator...

Kid: "wow, my mind is so clear, thanks data"

Data: "now I must go to engeneering, goodbye"

  • "so androids are better than humans?"

DATA: yes, soon we'll replace all of you and assimilate you. resistance is futile. LOLuMad bro??

  • Data is awsome

  • I wish Data was my dad. >_>

  • This kid demonstrates what is wrong with children of TODAY. Too much exposure to electronic media, learning without DOING. Yes, a child may learn physics from a textbook and regurgitate the information on a test. But if he's never played with blocks as a toddler, how can he comprehend how those rules and laws work in real life?

Mastery requires hands-on experience. Humans need to touch a thing to truly understand it.

  • @Yonkage Thats nothing new. It has less to do with "Electronic Media" and more to do with education in general. The dumbest people I know are usually the ones with the most advanced degrees because College and most of the educational system is based on your ability to encode currently understood facts, dates and formula's and then recall them during a test. People mistake that for knowledge.

  • today ?!?!?! this kid was from early 90s. O_O he'd be in his mid 20s.

  • "You are making an unwarranted extrapolation." I'm totally remembering that for the next time I make a kid cry.

  • @NaturalEnquirer DUDE .. NICE ... I lol'ed... I'll do the same

  • Data and wolf kick so much ass, two of my favs

  • i want a set like that!

  • These kids learn quantum physics at a young age yet can't figure out how to put the floor in before the roof.

  • @bdsterne1 He's probably used to antigravity blocks.

  • Structure. Logic. Function. Control. A structure cannot stand without a foundation.

  • Tell that to Marvin the Manically depressed robot :(

  • how the crew reacted to the people from the past allways pissed me off -_-

  • Screw emotion! Data was a god walking amongst mere men and he didn't even know it.

  • @nothingnesswithouten The Borg agree.

  • @nothingnesswithouten Lore thought that, and he ended up dead amongst an army of obsolete borg drones. Data was better off being humble and sympathetic to humans.

  • @nothingnesswithouten Data was no more a God than modern man is a God to a caveman. Remember that Data is the creation of a man. Data understands that he is imperfect and seeks to improve.

Many episodes involving Q also touch upon that idea of racial or otherwise inherent superiority—Q clearly believes that human beings will one day surpass his own species, for no other reason than that (in the Star Trek universe, at least) we are always seeking to better ourselves and better each other.

  • No, the kid knew it would need the base before top, but he was a sneaky little thing and got Data to do the thing for him.

  • this kid wanted to suck data's android cock.

  • Ok, I know he is just a kid, but is he REALLY so stupid that he can't figure out that you need a base for a top? I mean my God...

  • I love you Data! :)

  • IF THEY SET THAT ANDROID FREE IT WILL BE THE END OF ALL OF US!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

  • Lucky kid gets to meet Data.

  • @movieking88 because then the episode would be over before the first commercial break and they'd have to write another crisis for the crew for the remaining air time!

  • if Data can work that fast, why dont he work that fast at all the shipcomputers? so the enterprise need no other personal lol

  • @Skaldicgoth

It probably requires a lot of concentration. If he did that all the time, all his RAM would get filled up and he'd Blue Screen.

  • @Skaldicgoth Iol, if he do that all the time, the character would lose his essence.

  • I think the wind from Data's arms should've knocked over the pieces.

  • Fun fact: There are machines with arms in factories right now that can assemble things faster. Isn’t the future awesome… when you can actually live in it?

    (OK, minus the dumb people.)

  • @Evi1M4chine If I had a robotics factory at my disposal, I would make power armor.

    I'm just saying...

  • Did Data react by being surprised all of a sudden?

Watch when the boy tries to stack pieces on the

top. It falls over. Data reacted rather suddenly.

He IS more human than he thinks!!

Not to mention Cute, Handsome and Gorgeous!

  • data could take on all the f'in terminators alone

  • data is a prince

  • Data : FULLY functional and programed in... several "techniques"

    :D

  • somedays... I fear Data

  • Schönes Lehrstück...."eins nach dem anderen"... I love TNG!!!

  • looks like 4 people are fags

  • How this would have been better:

    Boy: You hate it.

Data: No, I am not capable of hatred.

Boy: I can't do anything right.

    Data: I agree

    (exit Data)

  • @darmokandgalad

I know I cant fucking stand kids in TNG

  • hurr

  • "Positronic brain"! Victory for Asimov!

  • why wasn't the kid kept in the brig

  • @MeIsArtTickYouLet Because he was a survivor from a spaceship that was attacked and Data rescued him and after that they were friends

  • I realy like this episode :P

  • Comment removed

  • Lol, yes, build the base before the upper levels.

Data's expressions are so "Human" that you sometimes (at least I know I do) forget that he's being played by a human actor, the magnificent Brent Spiner.

I mean, Brent Spiner is SUCH a good actor that I often catch myself thinking about how much closer to human Data's expressions are becoming! That's true professional acting.

  • 0:55 that's one really stupid kid

  • I would love to see him use that in a fight some time, go into Jeff Speakman mode ;)

  • Actually, the borg had sevral of borg queens

  • No, i think she's just the one... i can't remember exactly but i'm pretty sure voyager devoted a few lines to explaining how this is possible. But In the case of Data/BQ as I was meaning... Data killed her, and perhaps hesitated in doing so because of the borg/android baby she could have been carrying... LOL oh dear, what am i like? Picard certainly did not kill her, Picard was well and truly screwed along with earth,Data saved the day, and would have done so without Picard going to Engineering.

  • 05:53

Of course you need to put both sides of the support first, d*mb*ss!

  • Actually, come to think of it, what the f*ck is that kid trying to build? Is that normal for kids to do that in his age? =/

  • Holy smokes - people watch your language. Seriously.

  • LOL ... not even 1 hour after you tell me to F*** off, your comment gets a thumbs-down. HAHA!!!

Notice my original comment got a +6. That should tell you something.

  • I don't get why he got a thumbs down... i think it's funny when some arse moans about language and gets told to fuck off. classic

  • Aside from his occasional social misinterpretation, I think that Data would get along great with kids.

  • And to think in this setting, kids his age are supposed to be studying calculus.

  • NO ERROR! He has just got his emotional chip then... so THEN he IS able to "hate".

  • @Finnophilia No, you are in error. Data got his emotion chip in Star Trek Generations, the first movie which came after the series ended. So this episode takes place a while before Data got his emotion chip.

  • @Finnophilia Except that Data never had it installed until Generations. It was basically stolen by Lore who used it to manipulate Data later, but when Lore was deactivated the chip was removed and placed in storage until Data decided to have it installed in that movie.

  • @Finnophilia Actually then it would still be an error because Data says himself "No; I'm not capable of hatred" at 0:22

Ofcourse, since Data does not completely comprehend his emotions even after the installation of the emotion chip, it's possible he's in error. He's able to hate, just unaware of it.

However I think you are wrong. This episode is before the emotion chip is permanently installed. (Not sure though!)

  • @ind0ctr1n3 What always bothered me about this scene was that this kid was able to build the first two levels no problem and then all off a sudden he forgets how to put the next level together. If he really was that dumb, he would not have even got started on it.

  • He had his emotion chip installed in Generations, that's why that happened.

  • That was Star Trek Generations? We don't have that on tape here, only The Next Generation and it had that in it.

  • Emotion chip, dumbass.

  • Are you aware of the emotion chip thing?

  • Very funny video.

  • Data is my official crush!

  • Its easy to conceive why people (especially younger people) would want to imitate the character of DATA, amongst other things due to the strong sense of Integrity that Data displays, which is so lacking in society, but so needed

  • they don't appear to have glue in the future.

  • The horses all went extinct.

  • @jenniferswe

I would assume most likely they used magnetic pieces in that model

  • I love when Data hangs around with kids. We always get fun little verbal tidbits! ^_^

  • This video rocks!

Data is so sweet and so hot! =D

  • This was an extraordinary episode. Exactly what science-fiction was meant to be.

  • Data's hot...

  • AND fully functional.

  • Programmed in multiple techniques.

  • ^ LOL

  • that kid is a whiny bitch, data should have given him a good old backhand across the face.

  • Stop whining about whining kids.

  • You'll be whining about a sore asshole if you don't shut your damn mouth.

  • Comment removed

  • I love the expression at 00:06. So timid and naive... For a being with no feelings, he's surprisingly considerate of others' here.

  • Data has pretty eyes...mabey im just weird..

  • I think it's sweet how a machine incapable of emotions can still be so genuinely good-hearted. It shows a certain level of altruism. Even though he gets nothing back in return, not even emotional gratification, he's willing to help other people. :)

  • <33

    Yay for having no emotions.

  • The effects got better than this...

  • I remember wanting to punch most of the kids on TNG. They were often arrogant, or irritating, or slow to catch on. And bad dressers.

Obviously you finish the base before putting the top on. For Pete's sake.

  • Hahaha! I don't think any of us could have put it better. "Disaster" in season 5 comes to mind.

  • LOL...Yea exactly...I also wanted to punch that kid in Terminator 2.

  • @EffingAndJeffing i totally agree, seriously did we evolve out of common sense and logic by that time? seriously is there a class for simple logic and common sense 101? if so i would purchase that child a blender for christmas and a hand grenade to show his friends at school.

  • @froobtoob "Common sense" is at best a misnomer (if not simply inherently contradictory). And that is at any time period; ours included.

  • @EffingAndJeffing you just described every kid ever, dude.

  • @EffingAndJeffing

    Roof on floor? Noooooooo Dx

My world has just collapsed :( nothing makes sense!

    There is no god!

    The cake is a lie!!

  • @EffingAndJeffing Considering how consistently children are obnoxious brats in TNG, it would seem that parenting has gone down hill in the future.

  • @thirdimpact Recalls that episode when Dr. Crusher slaps Wesley... HOO-yeah!

  • @thirdimpact I wonder what would happen if Data could have turned into a kid in that ep 'Rascals', but then again, I guess that COULDN'T happen, cos he's always been the same size, despite being designed to appear to age (SORT of, imo), over time.

  • @EffingAndJeffing: Lal was nice. Well, she was an android, to be honest.

  • @EffingAndJeffing HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Right on man!

  • Plus I think Riker and Picard are top notch.

  • Haha Data your so cool, i wish i had my very own Data (:

  • maybe one day when we will be able to construct advanced robots and androids, there will be a data android. who knows? lol...

  • This was the STNG story that was under production when Gene Roddenberry died on October 24th, 1991. :(

  • pretty dumb kid lol i think my friends 2 year old would do better at putting that thing togeather XD and whydo all teh kids in startrek have really crappy clothes :)

  • What a messed-up temple!

  • Who doesn't love Data? He and Worf received more fan mail than any other characters!

  • wow thats shocking, NOT XD in fact incredibly belivable.

  • I'll cheer for Worf over Data any day. Why? I have my reasons.

  • well, McCaler, as Sean Connery said in "Red October", "We each have our reashonsh . . ."

  • "You are making an unwarranted extrapolation, I was merely offering an aesthetic analysis of this particular model."

I love you Data, I really do.

  • lol, to bad he got to old to do it anymore

  • yeah, i think that's the reason they likked him off. :'(

  • face lift...

    that's all I'm saying.

    ¬_¬

    WE ALL LOVE YOU DATA!

    I loved his quote:

"I don't think I should play Data anymore. I think I'm too old to play him anymore to be honest. I think it would look stupid putting that make-up on me at this point. There certain characters that I think work in a youthful way and I think I really skated along the edge in the last couple movies as it was."

    "..skated along the edge.." LMAO.

  • he didn't teach that kid anything, just made him look bad. filthy slow humans

  • data said "lt. laForge requires my assistance".laForge was a lieutenant commander by then and chief engineer, he should have "commander laForge requires my assistance".most overlooked blooper.strictly navy rank stuff that"commander data" should have known.

  • That kid is like "OMG this guy is amazing"

Data is like "Whatever, super speed is nothing special"

  • This is a good episode.

  • Data's just so shweet with the babies. :-D

  • i agree, Data is great with Kid's, would have been a fantastic father! I'm sure he'd bring 'em up to have a touch more common sense than this stupid kid tho. HAHA!

  • Data was indeed a father, in the season 3 episode "The Offspring". Check it out. ;)

  • Oh yeah i know! perfect example! It pissed me off to the high heavens when his mum told him not to build any more! WTF! what an insult, imagine telling your son NOT to father kids! Just cos at early birth they may not survive, but if they do grow to lead a fantastic life! but anyway... I was kinda meaning Biological kids. Adoption/sperm donnor that type of thing!

  • well he did say that he was "fully equipped"!

only person to know if he was, was Tasha and shes dead. Maybe Armus killed her because she carried Datas baby!!!LOL LOL LOL LOL

  • The Borg Queen was treated to a little Data lovin' too! Maybe there was a half android half borg nanite bun in the oven that Data didn't know about before he killed her. Or maybe thats what he was thinking about when he was contemplating for 0.68 seconds. i know that he wouldn't even think about betraying his friends, earth and the federation for a little skin on skin action.

I've had an awful day, and i may be retreating a touch too far into fantasy here, but i do know it :p

  • yeah, I wonder if that was the reason!

Wonder what sort of school a borg kid would go to?

  • of course the parents would have the best car on the school run!!!

  • kendrawhisp, data did not kill the borg queen, picard did.

  • Picard did? How exactly? Picard was watching his futures end when Data smashed the coolant tanks around the warp core, THEN while Picard was scrambling for his life on some conduit, swinging above the coolant, and the Borg Queen latched on to his leg, again, Data pulled her under the skin vaporising coolant. She was already dead when Picard snapped what was left of her skeleton. Picard was just making sure. Then again, neither of them actually killed her cause she showed up in Voyager anyway.

  • BRILLIANT!

  • I bet that that kids parents car would have no problems about it being stolen

  • what a dumb kid! lol

  • reminds you of yourself, huh

  • Was that a reply to me? Oh my how intelligent you are, i'm shocked and hurt at your comment, its cut deep into my psycie and i now know my character is so utterly flawed! Um yes... grow up! The reason i say the kid's dumb is becuase what kid would put up only half the support and then try and put the next lvl on top. Ok, ok, fair enough its more bad writing than the kid being stupid, but it just annoys me.

  • you was right, don't be political correct

  • You was right? What the fuck!?

  • he was, that boy's attemt to built a upper level of the temble was idiotic

  • No I mean his grammar. ???

  • I understand, "were" instead "was"

  • I liked that episode. :D
