I haven't seen the video you're talking about (I'll look though), but honestly, when it's that early in the competition, and stress is massively high, every now and then you've got to forgive a slight slip. And the reality is, Carrie's voice annihilates pretty much any contestant to ever set foot on that stage. The judges obviously recognized that.
