I got this guitar back in 2004 and it was modded straight away.

If I recall correctly, the Jem 555 was £699, and the laser leds + laser headstock and reflective paint came to £350, so £1050ish. They did a good job too, 7yrs later the led's work perfectly as does the laser headstock, so good work Martin Sims !

I respect your opinion, but Steve Vai created the JEM and also the " Bad Horsie " Jem which has a mirrored body, blue laser fret LEDS and a red laser headstock.

So there are stock JEMS's that look exactly like this.

But dont worry, if we all liked the same guitars, there would only be 1 guitar in the world, and what a boring place it would be ;)

Not at all - the led's are so flat in the neck you can run your finger over them and not feel them. The company I used did a fantastic job !

From recollection it was £400 including postage return, the maximum number of LED's and a 50ft laser unit fitted into the headstock but I havent checked the prices since ! Google Martin Sims and you'll see the price list and options. If you dont need that many LED's or want the laser unit in the headstock, it'll be considerably cheaper.

It's not a cheap job but everything fitted / worked perfectly from the moment I got it ( and 6yrs later ).

So a good invesment !

Its the same as replacing the crap Pups on the original 550 with EMG's and making it sound to my liking. Why would you want to spend hard earned money on something that everyone els e has is beyond me. I modify my instruments cosmetically and electronically to my liking too. Good for you.

Martin Sims of Sims LEDS did them ! Google him. He can do pretty much anything you can think of to your guitar that involves lasers / LED's / both !

Go ebay, search guitar neck, and look through 20 pages or so and you'll find a shop that does it for u in europe, i believe its 400 dollar per installment, u send them the guitr or neck and they do it for u. thats one way of doing it
