@twin2b25628 Cheers, I must get around to finishing my Zombie movie at some point. The Hello Mum was inspired by the number of idiots on any street interview that always hover around in the background shouting Hello Mum or on their mobiles ringing mates etc. Glad you liked it.
If you search YT for a film called 'Lego Knock Off Sluban Elite Police Force' it shows you exactly what comes with the set. The guns don't they are from Brickarms a company on the Internet. I hope that helps.
It is pretty easy to find, if you live in the UK then you can buy them in Wilkinsons dirt cheap, else where they are available cheap on eBay, search for Lego Police or Sluban (brand name).
They are all from the Mega Bloks Alien DNA Lab set, I bought two incomplete sets cheap of eBay purely for the well sections. As the sets for sale were missing figures etc (which I didn't care about) it was a bargain - keep an eye out for such things on eBay it is the best way to get them.
Depends on which voice you are referring to. But it was probably mine. One of the voice lines I did deepen using Audacity as I couldn't get more voice actors at the time. Also one of the characters I recorded whilst I had a voice infection, which was a giggle as it helped provide a different sounding voice :-)
:-) Actually he is in there twice if you look closely. This whole film was a tongue in cheek homage to Blunty3000 who originally started out on YT as a Brickfilmer. He used the Hagrid minifig in one of his films as a 'Freak' so that is why he is in my film. There are lots of things from his films in this one :-) Glad you liked it.
love the bluntmation tribute you got steve and dave ,bob, the grumpy monkey reference, the freak(Hagrid),the evil vending machine and those music video guys.
Way to big a topic to cover here, why not join our website bricksinmotion and we have a hardware and software thread there in our forums. We will all help you out.
The Swat stuff is already mentioned below in the comments pages. The Dumpster is a design a found on the Brickshelf website, you can search for anything there and you will find that someone has built it already with photos of their creations for you to examine etc. Hope that helps.
No, but I did get his approval before posting it, as it was a tribute film for his films and lots of things from his films appear in it. He liked it and it was fine. Glad you liked it too.
It is the hair from the Gilderoy Lockhart minifig from the Harry Potter sets, you can buy the minifig or just the hair part on Bricklink. The hair part is #43751
I have answered this one several times now in the comments below :)
But here it is again.......
Actually all the wall pieces are Mega Bloks, the police vests and sniper guys helmets are from a Chinese/Korean Lego clone, but all the minifigs are geniune Lego. Brick Films don't have to be just Lego you can use Mega Bloks, Best Lock, etc. There are some purists that hate anything but Lego, but that is there problem :)
Not sure about creative, more like lazy :) Well no that isn't really true, they are a good way to make a street if you don't have a lot of Lego. Work smarter not harder as Bill Gates likes to say :)
Well yours might be from a company called Oxford. But mine has Chinese symbols on it and the only bit of English on the box says 'Made in China' so either the Koreans have ripped off the Chinese rip off of Lego or vice versa :)
Actually not that many,I have a couple of large buildings, Market Street and The Grocer, and a few small vehicle sets. I buy individual pieces through bricklink, an excellent place to buy new and 2nd hand Lego bits. I also buy bits from eBay. Compared to others my Lego collection is not that big.
Thanks, ideas from other films, and check out Brickshelf . com website and get inspiration from there. You can search for all sorts of things.I needed a dumpster so I searched for that and found the design I used.
Blu Tac, There as a lot of it used in this film. I used to to tac up the sock. It was also used to keep the minifig in place as he wiggled inside the dumpster. Very useful stuff, just make sure it isn't visible when filming. :)
how do you get 12 fps? with iMovie I can only get 4 at the fastest. :( also, where did he get the assassin's vest? I can see that the sniper was brickarms, where can I buy a vest like that?
All the info you want, is in the comments below (only 7 entries down!) You need to use a stop motion capture program to get the footage, then edit it in iMovie. There are plenty of free applications out there, try, AnimatorDV Simple+ the non Lego items are from a Lego clone, made in Chinese/Korea.
All the info was further down in the comments below :)

great film but where did you get the swat sniper gear, like the aromor and such, and the red baret, i know the guns are from brickarms. but where are the vests and the swat snipers gear from? liked it a lot too!

Your right, but does it have to be lego ? Actually all the wall pieces are Mega Bloks, the police vests and sniper guys helmets are from a Japanese Lego clone, but all the minifigs are geniune Lego. Brick Films don't have to be just Lego you can use Mega Bloks, Best Lock, etc. There are some purists that hate anything but Lego, but that is there problem :)
oh I don't hate mega blocks becuz they are not completly copying lego, but u know there are really some Lego bootlegs from China(I'm Chinese), they are called the "Enlighten Bricks", They even steal the box art and the quality is EXTREMLY BAD!
I commented on this before, I hadn't planned on doing that, but I saw a news bulletin and there was a kid in the background waving and mouthing Hello Mum,it made me laugh so I had to put that in. It seems there is always some idiot doing something like that in outside broadcasts :)
Simple technique called Masking. Take a photo of the set without the minifig, then shoot the scene with the minifig. Then put each frame, into photoshop, place the frame with the minifig on top of the original frame and erase out the parts of the minifig you don't want, exposing the 'clean' original frame underneath. You do this frame by frame for the whole scene !
very nice. Where did you get the red brick walls. I've seen those in other brickfilms and it would really make it easier to make a street while not having to create a bunch of buildings and walls for brickfilms.
hehe! Awesome! It does save doing a lot of work. It must of been really slow to do all the SWAT police moving at once. I've done it in 12fps, I can't imagine how hard it would be on whatever Fps you did on that ^^ :)
Thanks! I will have a look! I've just recently got After Effects and have been playing about with that (Sabers, Green Screen, Cloning etc). I might have to up the FPS to 24 on fights as my version of AE only seems to do PAL... Wierd. :-/
Some I made myself with an awesome free program called Audacity, go get a copy ! - The others are from websites listed in the end credits of this film. They are brilliant sites and well worth paying the small fees for the great sounds they have. (some of the sites are free others you have to buy the sounds).
:) This was put in right at the last moment, I stopped animating for lunch and was watching the news and there was this kid jumping up and down behind a news anchor man, and I thought I have got to add something like that, as there is always some idiot in the background when there is a reporter trying to be serious :-)
how'd u get permission from blunty3k to use his charaters i mean i gave him good reasons and credit for JALvision's upcoming brickfilms and all he did 2 reply back to me was say "no" without any good reason. however if u did this of your own free will with any regard from Nate Burr it should b a snap to just put in charaters and have them say nothing more than a grunt about some geeky relation to some overrated and or copyright sci-fi film. was there ever an intelligent remark in there? ever? no
Well, this was a sort of homage to his movies. So I knew he wouldn't be annoyed about it.His main characters I have only put in the background as a cameo. So it is not like I have used them as main characters. So he was cool about it. Also he doesn't 'own' them, they are copyright by Lego, but as I showed consideration of his opinion and made sure he was happy with what I had done, there was no problem.I guess show respect and earn respect, it's a two way street. But glad to say he was cool.
The heads of official Lego piece 3626bpb193 it has a hollow head stud. There is a little yellow cross in the hollow head stud which needs to be drilled out carefully, then the SWAT helmets fit perfectly. You can get them on the Bricklink website singularly for just a few cents
Just yellow minifig parts, dead cheap, get them loads of places, but my fav place to buy is bricklink dot com - it is the best place to buy individual Lego items.
No you just buy the separate yellow pieces. Plain yellow legs, plain yellow torso and whatever head you want & headgear. It is not a set minifig to buy whole, you just make your own up.
@twin2b25628 Cheers, I must get around to finishing my Zombie movie at some point. The Hello Mum was inspired by the number of idiots on any street interview that always hover around in the background shouting Hello Mum or on their mobiles ringing mates etc. Glad you liked it.

Thanks! I will have a look! I've just recently got After Effects and have been playing about with that (Sabers, Green Screen, Cloning etc). I might have to up the FPS to 24 on fights as my version of AE only seems to do PAL... Wierd. :-/
I'll just go and have a look now. :)

where'd you get the sounds?
HeroicToothbrush 3 years ago

How did u get the normal lego heads into those helmets that the swat snipers have?
deathwaitsforevryone 3 years ago
The heads of official Lego piece 3626bpb193 it has a hollow head stud. There is a little yellow cross in the hollow head stud which needs to be drilled out carefully, then the SWAT helmets fit perfectly. You can get them on the Bricklink website singularly for just a few cents

were'd u get the nude lego?
brickmaster2000 3 years ago
Just yellow minifig parts, dead cheap, get them loads of places, but my fav place to buy is bricklink dot com - it is the best place to buy individual Lego items.
FunnyBoysFilms 3 years ago
i couldn't find any on there on 4/11/08 (bricklink) - i even did advanced search
brickmaster2000 3 years ago
No you just buy the separate yellow pieces. Plain yellow legs, plain yellow torso and whatever head you want & headgear. It is not a set minifig to buy whole, you just make your own up.

i could only find yellow: arms; hands; and torsos- but thanks 4 the help!
brickmaster2000 3 years ago
i knew where you got them but thanks mate!
