You would be correct sort of. The opening licks are for sure from Machine Gun. The last couple of licks before the start of Hey Joe are from Jimi's Woodstock Improvistion. The ending solo after Hey Joe also are from the Woodstock Improvision. His Woodstock Improvision probally is the greatest ten minutes of guitar playing ever. Peace. Brandon

It is a 1986 MIJ Strat. It has Custom Shop 69 pickups. Very good tone. It doesn't hurt that I am playing this through a Marshall JCM 800 4010. Best amp I have heard in person. Thanks. Brandon.

You are right the 80's MIJ guitars are great. I will tell you this. I played this video through a Marshall JCM 800 4010 that I had. That thing was a tone monster. I am still asking myself why I sold it.I agree with you the natural color strat has a little thinner sound than this strat.

I love this white strat but I have trouble with it staying in tune. It also has a little thicker neck than the natural one. The natural one has the best neck I have ever played. Thanks again. B

Swap the necks it's only a string change and a few bolts, unless the natural one is a 3 bolt and the white is a 4 bolt.

BEAUTIFUL!! I have the same amp, but a little older, don't you just love it?! Of course, you're playing is amazing as well. Anyway, I'd really like to know your setup here, I see you're using the high input, do you remember your settings? And what pedals are you using, it says fuzz face, anything else? Lastly, is it just the strat direct into the amp until like half way then you turn on the fuzz? Dude ur amazing for 14, rock on!

Thank you. I really appreciate it. I am running my 1986 fender strat with custom shop 69 pickups, into a Dunlop JH-F1 fuzz face straight into the amp(true bypass pedal). I have preamp all the way up with presence at about 6, mids at 6, treble at 5, bass at 6. I love this amp but I have to tell you the custom shop 69 pickups give you the Hendrix tone.

My only gripe is I wish the amp had a little more gain. I do not like running pedals but I need them to cover some of Hendrix's songs.

I'm surprised you say that mine has plenty o' gain lol. Maybe it's the low output single coils that cause it. I have both, and when I plug in my carvin, with pre amp on ten the amp gets real nasty, but yea I'm more into right about the sound you've got, which for me is around 5 on preamp gain. Anyway, keep em coming, then i'll get more ideas with what to do with my amp (or what it's capable of), and I have been playin around with pedals too, so if I find anything amazing I'll let you know.

I don't know if you received my prior message. Do you know if the power tubes in your amp are 6550s or el34s? I have the 6550s. My amp has had no mods. I talked to my amp guy and he said he could add a preamp tube and it would increase gain. He also said I could change to the el34s. I don't wan't to do it because I might mess up the amps tone. I am afraid to have it modded because the price on these amps is so high.

sorry I didn't get back to you fast, I noticed that you have already put it on ebay, even though you have great tone, but yeah I have el34s in mine, but that's weird because most of the distortion should be coming from preamp stage, well, that's interesting I didn't know they made such a difference. so, what amp you gonna replace this one with?

I don't know how long you have been playing but your skill is off the charts.  You have the tone and bounce down. This is one of the best covers of Hey Joe I have heard.

Do you play in band? I noticed the lick off of monterey at 2:41, also caught the clip of the woodstock improv in that little ending. nice man! five stars
