hi i have a vega-2000 airbrush will this work for automotive paint ?? thanks and as a compressor i have a 30 gal 150 psi can this compressor work for it???? thanks for the info
If I want to get into painting helmets, guitars and some sportbike body work what would you recommend that is god awful expensive but still is good quality
@BigAndTall666 I assumed those where the brand names, there isn't a single brand out there that I know of which only has one product to sell - so for someone who doesn't have a clue what he is looking at, yes it would be quite helpful if someone did it for me. :)
i do have an pen airbrush a little smaller than you use but i dont know how to use it tnx for the video i think it will help me alot couse i want to aribrush my shirt and motorcycle on my own art tnx
Hey Mike, if I want to use my awata for automotive paint. Do I have get a different needle and head or can I use the same one I use when I airbrush acrylic paints.
Superb video regarding the technicalities and also the subtitles, I think keeping the deaf with us is something too many ignore. It should be a standard.
nice video, but what I can't understand is how to find this series on your channel, it's either hidden or just lost somewhere inside the huge playlists?

Read how much PSI your airbrush can handle. Mine says 30 PSI maximum. I bought an air compressor for $80 and it can reach up to 100 PSI. It was the smallest one there, and that's all I needed. You can dial the air compressor down for less PSI, or higher. I talked to the people selling me the air compressor, but there isn't really any compressor that is just made specifically for airbrushes. Find one that can be dialed to your PSI for your airbrush. =) Hope that helped.
i recieved a eclipse bcs airbrush as a gift im just starting im a super art freak is this a good path to start or would grav feed be better? id be working on shirts and on pape maybe automotive for fun.
Airbrushes with siphon tubes (bottom feed / side feed) takes a little more air pressure to push the paint out of the airbrush. With a top mounted (gravity feed) airbrush you can work with a lower air pressure because the weight of the actual paint itself also "squeezes" on the nozzle.....Basically it is a matter of your personality and if you work with your hand resting on a table a bottom feed having a color cup can limit your hand movement...Overall a top feed dual action airbrush is best.
I am thinking of gettinng the iwata highperformance side feed airbrush. I want to be able to do fine art and paint tshirts. Is it possible to change out the .2 mm needle to a .5 for airbrushing t-shirts?
@sk8r1231 You only need to buy a new needle and a matching spray tip / nozzle (needle and tips should ALWAYS match in sizes). Just remove the original fitted parts and replace with your new ones (BE CAREFUL).
Should i get a gravity feed or a siphon feed airbrush. I want to do stuff mostly on paper but can you use a gravity feed on tshirts. Does it take a lot longer to change colors on a gravity feed?
Can you use any compressor wich has variable pressure? I want a good airbrush from the internet. But its way cheaper to buy the heavy compressor localy so you dont have the shipping costs.
Buy one with a collection tank (cheap or expensive don´t matter), be sure it has a pressure regulator and for a bonus add a moisture trap.....Find all your needed fittings before you buy the compressor, it could save you money and frustrations.
check out paasche airbrushes..be sure to get a dual action model..this gives you control over the paint and airflow. They run about 75-85 bucks.Keep them clean and you'll be good to go for a long time.
haha. that was funny. and dude you can use it, he's just saying that if your right handed or lefthanded, its easier as you can set it up so it wont get in the way.
i'm kinda lost at what i said was funny and I never said anything about left or right handed? i wonder how i got a thumbs down VVV I was saying if you wear the paint your a real artist!!! and some newb thumbs me down....sigh
I love the fact that you're sharing your expertise. Great vid

The main feature you want is a consistent air pressure. That way it won't pulse on you .Keeps you in control of the action.
