The horns and strings really add emotionally to the theme. This probably would've been nice for a 10th anniversary season or the last season.

I miss those days in NYC. This was back when almost everyone had a talk show,lol! Tempest,Carnie,Charles Perez,etc. But only Jenny,Ricki and a few others stood the test of time. It doesn't seem that long ago when I'd hurry home from work on the E train to get the last 40 min of Ricki with my wife. Especially in the fall time around Oct\Nov when it gets dark early. Good times,good times...lol

What I liked about this particular opening is how they use so many different things from different countries! ;D

@chrispleasantable - sorry but that's incorrect. Parts of it were the same, while parts of it were different. The theme music was actually updated drastically in Season 5 and didn't change until Season 8.
