  • He even drove it off the track properly. Compare to today's F1 cars where a spoilt brat like Hamilton just leaves it in the middle of the track.

  • The most overrated F.1 driver ever.

  • hahahaha ferrari... thats BENNETON YOU MORON

  • He´s a champion and a crusher xD

  • haahaa

  • Mallamoozoo, what did happen in the first corner of the Pacific GP 94??? /:

  • What happened in the first corner of the pacific Grand Prix?

Hakkinen didnt get the paint taken off his nose by running into a stray dog! he rammed Senna and spun him off. Did your question even have a point?

  • lol, stray dog, thats a good one! end of the day mate all the drivers that are crowned f1 champ are all about as good as each other. just shumi n senna stand out a little from the rest and over one lap senna may have been 0.1% faster than shumi but i belive along with many people that shumi was the better all round driver. the master at monaco, spa oh and finished second in spain 94 after being stuck in 5th gear for the last stint of the race ;)

  • Master of Monaco?

    err....

    Senna; 6 in 10 (60%) (almost 7 with '84)

    Schue; 5 in 1 (33%)

That's about an accurate numerical representation of their relative talent - Senna about twice as good as schu.

  • @mallamoozoo

lol he was max even. stop making up legends.

Whats your profit from spreading this?

  • just incase anyone has the misfortune to speak to mallamoozoo, this guy is SO patronising about F1 and thinks his opinions are facts which amuses the hell out of me!

I would like to know who out there feels that shumi was a better all round driver / sportsman than senna? Take into account how he helped turn a very sad looking Ferrari team on its head!

  • Well i have been watching F1 for a long time, Im a Ferrari fan and a Mclaren fan, but to compare Senna & Schumy is like comparing chalk & cheese. Both were ruthless drivers, but Senna was so far ahead technically, even his engineers struggled to keep up with him. Schumy was a great driver, and he is the blueprint for todays drivers, but he drove in an era where all the greats had retired, he had no real competition. he pulled a lot of shady moves and had favour with stewards.

  • well, Murray Walker i would say is in a good position to have a strong opinion on who the strongest all round driver was / is and he rated schumy as his number one for most of the same reasons i do. is it just a matter of opinion (someting Mallamoozoo cant understand) but i'm glad i side with murray.

  • And the answer to ur question... who was the better driver? Senna, without a doubt. As for Schumy being a 'sportsman', you have got to be kidding? He is probably the most unsporting driver in the history of F1, and probably the most ruthless. And it's refreshing that the sport has been given the kick up the arse it needed after the shite Schumy years.

  • for those who say they cant remember a schumy race what about spain 94 stuck in 5th gear and finished second, spa 95 started 16th ane won the race after kept hill behind him on slicks for 3 laps on a wet track hill was on intermediates, spain 96 in a dog of a ferrari he lapped nealy the whole field in the wet and was one of the best drives i have ever watched live. thats just in three years of his long f1 career. i only remember one or two senna drives which match those.... my opinion i know ;)

  • they had f1 in adelaide?

  • Are you serious? Adelaide was arguably the greatest street circuit of all-time - the only other contender is Monaco. It beat Melbourne hands down in every concievable way - ask ANY veterans of F1 in any capacity and they will fondly recall the magnificent days of the Adelaide Grand Prix - during the golden era of f1 - 85 - 95.

  • just so the poster knows err thats not a ferrari LOL

  • @QuikdrawlMcgraw It iz blue farari ?

  • its a shame he's retired now :(

  • @Lukiedapukie He is back. next year champ

  • @Lukiedapukie Not anymore :P

  • I was there when it happened, and i remember the whole of the pit lane crowd standing up and cheering!!

  • Ah yes - when Schumi cracked under the pressure of an over the hill Mansell who was faster than him even at 40!. Just shows how little Schui would have achieved had Senna finished his cut-short career!

  • Mallamoozoo thats bollocks mate! Only reason Mansell did well in that race was because schumi and hill were fighting each other so close and the only reason hill was anywhere near schumi was because the Williams was a much better car. Just look at how badly Shum's team mate did that year!!! Schumacher best all round driver EVER in F1 and it will be 20-30 years before we get talent on the same level. Not just car control but AMAZING team building and control ;)

  • 1. Mansell won pole - Schumi crashed in quali trying to match him. Owned!

    2. Schui's team mate? Verstappen? Llehto?, Herbert? - there were so many of them playing musical chairs none had time to get settled in the team.

    3. Senna is rated by nearly EVERY expert as better than Schu. It will be 200-300 years before we see talent on HIS level. Schu next to Senna was a pea next to a mountain.

    4. Team-building my ass! Ferrari mngment put the team together- Schu was just lucky to be along for the ride!

  • lol, he makes me laugh :)

  • Note this list does not include crashes that were the fault of other drivers, ie.

    British 95 (hit Hill)

    Monza 95 (hit Hill)

    Nurburgring 97 (hit Ralf)

    Austria 2000 (hit Zonta)

    Belgium 05 (hit Sato)

Likewise Senna's crashes with Schlesser Monza 88, Mansell Portugal 89, Prost Japan 89, Nakajima Brazil 90, are similarly not counted.

  • oh and its funny how senna span out in brazil 94 trying to catch Schumi??

  • Is that your best shot? ROFL. OK - that's 1 mistake from Senna (and actually its not even a big one as we later found out that Schui's team cheated with the fuel rig thereby getting him ahead of Senna in an illegal pitstop - so yes Senna spun but he was attempting the impossible - bridging a gap that only existed by cheating - Schui never actually overtook Senna in 94.) But anyway... let's allow you that one.

    Now strap yourself in!.....................

    Here are Schumacher's mistakes:

    ........

  • 91

    Australia (spun off)

    92

    Imola (hit wall)

France (TWICE; hit Senna, hit Modena)

    93

    South Africa (spun off)

    Donington (spun off)

    Japan (hit Hill)

  • 99 Canada (hit wall) Silverstone (hit wall) 00 Monaco (hit wall) Germany (hit Fisichella) 03 Brazil (spun off) 04 Monaco (hit Montoya) China (Hit Klien (race), spun off (race)) Monza (spun off)
  • lol you know the rig made very little difference and the williams was the faster car anyway?

shumi of course had mistakes as did senna and i think senna may of only just had better car control but, ( and please read this slowly) i think shumi was the better overall driver which includes all the work for the team. 22 yrs i think it was that ferrari went without winning a champ before shumi joined. he built the team around him and wanted ross to join with him. please see how much he did himself!

  • The rig made little difference? - Err - he went in to the pits second and came out first - so he had the faster pitstop, duh?

At what stage of this complex deductive process do you lose track? What part of that can't you understand?

  • maybe thats because he was doing what shumi did best and push hard on the right laps before the stop. the fact a filter may have been removed from the rig possibly gave him a second at the most ;) i have the race on tape. what happened in the first corner of the pacific grand prix 94??? hmmm?

  • lol - you really have no idea about basic kinematics do you? You are just pulling ideas out of your ass with no substance.

Watch; "Schumacher uses illegal fuel rig to pass Senna in pitstop"

Senna stops, then Schu stops, then Schu then takes off first - that's all there is to it - no in lap bullshit like you imply - just a shorter period stoopped for fuel - as explained in the video description box - the fuel rig filter was removed and pumped faster saving 3 seconds per pitstop.

    OWNED!

  • lol well i dont have the race as you can tell and of course if that happened then yes the rig if illegal would have helped but i do remember him having the faster car with the same fuel load ;)

  • Agreed - schui had the faster car. But Senna was the faster driver.

  • lol no it was shumi making it go fatser. again just look at his team mate jos and dnt give me bull about swapping seats all the time, a rookie driver can do very weel in a team with a good car so why could'nt jj and jos?? Hill showed in 94 that the williams was faster. rest my case

  • Umm. - Verstappen was debuting in his first ever GP - hardly a solid guage of the Benetton' quality. And Verstappen turned out to be crap.

Now look at Senna's team-mate , Hill (A future World Champ and 20 tiime GP winnner) - a whopping 1.6 seconds slower in quali and LAPPED by half distance by the incredible Senna in the same car.

At the beginning of the year Williams cars were pig handling shopping trolleys!

  • thanks again for sounding yet more like an adult but no matter how you word it or how many stats you put in , fact is the williams car was a better car than the benetton and had the more powerful renault v 10. yes the ford v8 had good low down torque but the v10 kicked it arse with power-weight ratio. and hill only won the chapm because shumi moved to one of the worst cars on the grid ;)

  • Jarvilehto was really bad, and Jos was decent but not really great.

  • Oh and Ferrari almost won in 90 with the superior car - only Senna's genius stopped them. Ferrari almost won in 99 - with Irvine before Schumi even won 1. So Ferrari was already the best when Schui won his first for ferrari. And it was Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne and 14 other ex-Benetton technical staff that were poached by Ferrari that made them the best - Schui was just along for the ride - riding on their coat-tails. Any driver would have won 5 WC's from 00-04 as favoured driver there.

  • 94 Adelaide (hit Hill) 95 Imola (hit wall) Australia (hit Alesi) 96 Monaco (hit wall) 97 Argentina (hit Barrichello) Jerez (hit Villeneuve) 98 Spa (hit Coulthard)
  • 05

    Australia (hit Heidfeld)

    Turkey (hit Webber)

    China (spun off)

    06

    Australia (hit wall)

  • china was in 2004 but good list though

  • As my list shows, it was both - Schumacher spun in both 2004 (twice) and again in 2005. Woeful!

  • its not ferrari its benetton
