Hitler made a terrible mistake invading Russia. If he hadn't done that, the allies would have struggled a lot longer on the Western front. German soldiers were highly disciplined, at the beginning of the war that is. The Blitzkrieg was a brilliant tactic, imo. Don't get me wrong, I have no respect for Hitler whatsoever. But you gotta admit that it's because of the enormous size of the Russian army that the germans had no choice but surrender.
