  • Celts are a linguistic group, racially they are Pre-Indo-European as are most of the native populations around the Med Sea. When the Indo-Europeans came from central Asia their physical presence stopped at about the Rhine river and Danube, but their culture and languages were spread to the rest of Europe and emulated by those populations.

Although Indo-Europeans had also infiltrated Greece and Rome and responsible for those successes.

  • interesting detail coming from the Greek mythology:CELTOS (as well as GALATIS~=Gaul,Gaulois) was the son of HERCULES.also, the old oak of the druids was the sacred tree of ZEUS.not to mention, one of APOLLON s adjectives was hyperborean.Europe is a greek name, after all.

  • @scorpios814 what of brutus? some welsh historians trace the beginnings of 'civilised' brits back to brutus and the trojians - infact through genetics they can trace their migration from the mediterainean via canaries etc through to wales etc - may explain the 'darkness' of the welsh - yes the greeks are wonderful mix of indian and nordic cultures of the past - even all their gods are alike and this was 19th century germany's obsession with india - all very interesting stuff kelto-then any tribe

  • Robert O'Driscoll wrote a book in 1994 called "New World Order: Corruption in Canada"

And he of course was fired shortly after for "anti-semitism"

  • yes i agree with everything except this use of the term celtic, it is unfair to group all these wonderfully vibrant and different cultures of the people of europe into one group in this way, celtic is a broad cultural definition, including a number of different cultures and populations groups ie: not a 'race' not one ethnicity,it has no particular reverence in the uk or ireland, it basically means those people not roman or greek living in europe at that time(germans, scythians, iberians, gauls etc)

  • @rugbyboy198127 NOT true at all yes we are most definitly a racial group,My fathers name is from Gaul and my mothers name is over 1700 years old in irish gaelic these 2 families combined becouse of the roman destrucion of the Celts ,Scythian, iberian, gaul are celts germans are not the anglos are another germanic tribe from friesland do the history .We are getting sick of hearing that we are not a race it is Provabel through many sources of genetics we are basicly the oldest white,WE are a RACE

  • @dagnab1 I don't doubt you mate - but you must understand the term celtic is misleading - doesn't mean your family history is any different - just means it ought not to be labelled celtic - search the origin of the term and ye shall find! by the way 'race' is human concept - genetics and science invalidate the very concept of race - what you refer to is rb1b - the basque genes - which are quite correctly the oldest in europe - your obsession with race is rather worrying - from a blue eyed blond!

  • @dagnab1 There are only two races (by phenotype/genotype/haplogroup etc.) native to Europe; Pre-Indo-Europeans and Indo-Europeans. There has also been some admixture with Semites and Turkic peoples (in Italy and Greece respectively). i.e Jew-fro hair is Semitic.

    Celts are Pre-Indo-European.

  • They shun difference and non-conformity. Any ideas other than that which is widely and officially accepted are "conspiracy theories by nutjobs" or "weirdos". I can only hope that people want to be free, only some seem to resent not being themselves, but rather the product of social engineering. There is absolutely an order and the majority accept it and defend it.

"We are living in a very cynical age" - Miranda Otto

  • "We cannot be lesiglasted into order. If we are legislated into order, I think we will resent it."

This only applies to some people it seems. Or...is this desire for self-determination something that lies deep, dormant within us? Is it something that has been suppressed and put down. Look at most people: They absolutley love their chains, they do not want to choose who they want to be, they let the television choose who they will be. There is no desire for freedom.

  • @91Roundhouse Loving their chains is very evident in China, and Japan even, and in modern Europe today sadly, but the Celts, from the Bronze Age Gaul to the Medieval Scot despised them, and to this day, in various ways, attempts to rid themselves of their chains, it's the spirit of the culture, and a spirit I feel will ultimately save us all.

  • pretty cool

  • I grew up with professor O`Driscoll`s son,Robert O`Driscoll , I (Paul Iwaszczenko) attended OurLadyofPerpetualHelp with little Robbie when we were kids,, then in high school I lost track of him,I remember eating lunch at the Odriscoll home many a time with Robbie and Phanula ,

  • Can someone tell me with scientific/evidence proof that the Celts originated in the Middle East? I've heard these were the plausible theories.

  • @lexxypexxy I think they ventured there not based on war but of trade. For some years ago bodies four I believe of a man and three women were found mummified in Western China. DNA testing results came back as European in origin. Though I have no evidence as several other people have the same as me. I'd say they ventured to the east, but I don't believe the east is of their origin.

I'd have to say Europe is where they originally came from.

  • Who are you anyway con16...You don't know shit about what you're saying guy....well sort ....not ..I'm assuming you're

    un educated.

  • I was joking? If you couldnt tell from my page im irish, lmao!............. but really look at some pictures of early-celts, then compare them to chinese/asian, south-american, or arabs, in wealth, how they dress, and living conditions = ooga ooga booga tribes. Ireland was made up of alot of tribes, so was Scotland - fact.lol.

  • European societies were generally tribal, in fact all were at one time - all people were.. The Celts and thier forebearers built great standing stones, made bronze and iron weapons, beautiful gold and silver jewellery - they were not "ooga booga" tribes! They were on thier way to becoming the third great European culture when Rome stopped them and assimilated them (many Celts and Germans enjoyed the sophisticated Roman lifestyle); the Romans themselves were tribal at one point..

  • actually rome was always a city. The romans were never tribal.

  • @NSALP121 There is no difference of Muslims and Catholics. It is no different than the Roman/Ottoman empire-It is the same exact piece of land, same exact herd of people yet there are different empire names. The Roman/Ottoman people are fundamentally a lazy people however I am not here to push any beliefs or knowledge on these people.

  • @conr16 The Black Irish of Montserrat - Irish accents in the Caribbean

  • the celts are a fascinating and intelligent ancient civilization:)

  • @EternalSodomite

Lol, what a scrotum-licking little comment.

  • I don't trust the Canadians.

  • asshole......

  • neither do i...

  • Prof. Robert O'Driscoll's son Robert O'Driscoll, Jr., is a good friend of mine! I met him while friends and I were running The Stray Cat in Kansas City, Missouri. Hi, Roberts O'Driscoll!
