My teacher told us the president Reagan I think it was Reagan was there. That was Also their first time playing together they all practiced separately and they did an amazing job
Great song, probably much better live though... And the size of your band is shocking. My band has all of 45 people. And I'm the only tuba player that ACTUALLLY shows up half the time... and yes, I'm a girl that plays tuba. mahaha
god it is twice as large as mine band I play piccolo in ours damn I wish iwas in a band like that bowie in texas is big to they are show offs though just because the had like 400 people in thier band
their trumpets slide all over the place = S wheres the cleanlyness guys. its a heroic piece. clear tonguing and cantabile tone... all i hear is LOUD and rips up to the high notes.
perhaps not the best song to give a marching band. the warmth in the piece is lost i think
@cambridget this is very difficult... i am in a brass band on Euphonium I/II and getting some of these pitches cleanly as a HS junior is very difficult.. although it could have been cleaner, this is NOT an easy piece to perform, and its more of a challenge for marching band.. And believe it or not.. i was there.. in Peters Township's band.. it sounded great live..!
There is a home side but the reason many college bands do it this way is to give the high school marching bands sitting on the way a full frontal experience. It is meant to inspire them. Remember this is a Band Festival not a football game.
I'm sure John Williams didn't have a part for roto-tom fills in the intro or even through out the whole piece ... great way to screw up a master piece... damn marching bands... :(
It's a marching band arrangement dude, calm down (I love the Olympic Fanfare and Theme as well). They are always different than the original piece. Yes, it kinda sucks they didn't have a roto-tom, but why would you have roto-toms in a marching band? It's meant for instruments you can march while playing, not for a whole band or pit orchestra. Otherwise we would have marching violins! But for a marching band arrangement, this is done very well, and sound is great.
Well done. It is difficult to conduct a band of 26 never mind a band of ????. Well done everyone.

I have to say one thing americans seem to be fantastic at is school/college level is music. In the UK its awful no one gets involved.

"This is kind of two slow? I played the Olympics Fanfare to this and the original song arranged and composed by John Williams is a bit faster."
You have to slow down genius shit to bring it to the tempo that the average dumbass human can comprehend.
