It's the original document, it's right there in his hand. Also who said anything about there actions later? This is about the pilgrims believing in a Christian faith, not their actions as Christians. The "belief" of Christ was brought to spread the word of God.

  • You act like the Pilgrims were writing about evangelical Christianity when they wrote the Mayflower Compact. Plymouth Colony, which was later absorbed by Massachusetts Bay, was one of the most religiously intolerant colonies. Absolutely anti-liberty. As Roger Williams, Anne Hutchinson, the 4 Quakers who were killed for their faith and the "witches" of Salem how Christian their society was to them. How much glory was given God by the persecution of the Puritans? You're clearly no historian.

  • Wow... You know what else has been removed by "liberals"?! All those relevant references to doing all this in the name of the King of England. That the country was to be a colony of Great Britain! So, let's bring back God and Country- that country not being the United States of America.

    Just b/c the pilgrims lived in the U.S. before the U.S. was established doesn't mean they founded the U.S. as a formal country. They founded a religious colony. That's it.

    Were any of the Founding Fathers pilgrims? Hmmm?

    I have no problem showing my kids the entire text, especially since it has NO bearing or influence U.S. Law. NONE. Just as the Declaration of Independence (which also refers to god) has NO legal authority.

    So you yet again fail in your attempt to imply that the United States was founded upon so-called Judeo / Christian values

    I wish you would just be above board as to your true intentions with these little "history" lessons. It is so obvious
