For reviews dont just go thorugh each song, generically categorizing each section and relating it to another band..."Catchy guitar rif" "Cool distortion" "sound like the beatles" "sounds like zeppelin"Classical Piano? Do you even know different styles of piano? just cause its piano and slow doesnt mean its classical, you didnt even mention the transition in Spinning in Dafodils... Fairly decent review. So many songs on the album are background noise. Personally I think after the 1st minute of elephants it joins them. You shoulda bigged up Noone Loves Me alot more, listen to the underlying melodies the band touch on in the first part, it's a really work of art; The head banging part goes on too long and once again, killed by Josh's voice. Also scumbag blues is the best song on the album, by far, deserved more complements dude.

With all of the comparisons, I'm surprised you passed up "Scumbag Blues" vs. Cream (the original supergroup). The vocals are more than similar, as the harmonies were the same style, Josh's falsetto sounds exactly like Jack Bruce, and the verse melody is almost identical to that of "Strange Brew". Otherwise, good job!

..."Caligulove" is pronounced like the movie Caligula (Originally supposed to be this band's name, but they found at least ten bands with this name before trying to find something that wasn't taken.) Also, I would not say either of your uses of "bluesy" seemed to fit. It sounds like you were referring to the slide guitar parts, which contain blues elements while not actually being bluesy. Though, that last one is a bit more subjective...

Pretty good review. A few notes for future reference: the keytar was only in "Interludes" (and, yes, "weird" was the whole point). What you were hearing in "Scumbag Blues" was a clavinet, which was also used in Zeppelin's "Trampled Under Foot" and "In the Light", Stevie Wonder's "Superstitious", and possibly another track on this album. (Interestingly, Jonesy plays his old mellotron during "Bandoliers" at 3:35) ...
