the common piano we see is an upright piano.unless youre talking about upright grand for which the inside of the piano, you can see the harp looking thing that places the strings,consist of four sections instead of three where standard piano are made to be like.its similar to that of a grand piano that also has four sections,only that its lying on its back therefore making it a much bigger and grander piano.

Grands and baby grands have a shape like a harp laid flat with the strings running parallel to the floor. Your piano's make should be either on the front in plain view, inside the instrument on the sound board, or both.
