The most fun i've had with a rc boat is when I took it to a rough sea with loads of waves, one way hit the boat and it went completely under it, and surfing and jumping the wave is hilarious

I would be interested in seeing the turbine on a catamaran hull.....too much wetted surface w/ the monohull not enough torque from the engine to overcome the "stickieness" of the water..

Ah....brings back the memories! I used to race in NAMBA District 7 races, high performance nitromethane powered boats. Back then, we ran Class A, B, C, and X boats (3.5cc, 7.5cc, 11cc, and unlimited.

The outrigger hydros of those days ran well over 105 mph.

These days it seems it is all about fast electrics.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's with my dad being a huge model boater till the day he died. Those who came down with the speed boats, they were actually faster back then getting up to 90mph and more and kicking up a rooster tail 15-20 feet high even for a model boat,  but the red one was going pretty good. Brings back lots of cool memories, nice.

Whats so fake about this video? These are gas control boats. There are gas powered RC boats out there that are capable of going over 50 mph which is like 55 knots. Theres also a gas RC saltwater boat out there thats capable of doing over 70 mph. Its possible, research before you comment.

I believe if the turbine was put in a slightly larger boat with a prop.i believe this is how the real hydros are set up.they use the jet wash from the turbine to turn the prop of the boat.May be to fast to handle thow but if your willing to put that much money into the water any way what the hey i would like to see it.I think it would be wicked sick fast?

the propellor lifts the boat out of the water... jetboats don't work... it's a neat idea, but it will never work unless it's on something that creates massive amounts of its own lift, like a hydro or a rigger with rear sponsons...
