This song is particularly sad when you understand the history of Les Friction. Les Friction was created by the surviving brother of the incredibly talented ES Posthumus. The surviving brother said he was never going to make another ES Posthumus album again. I'm happy he chose to continue his music, but this song feels like an embodiment of his pain.
with the lyrics and music that just totally sounds like E.S.Posthumus especially at the end i cant help it but getting the feeling that this song is about franz.
Something I notice in Les Friction is that this Paint fellow's weakness is soft singing, unfortunately evident in this final song of the album. However, Helmut used that to an advantage; each weak moment of singing is immediately followed by an enormous payoff of explosive vocals that bring a chill to your spine.
Paint can deliver strong vocals, not quite so much soft ones; to use his weakness to enhance his strength? I find that to be genius.
@Edbrad I don't know his real name otherwise, so I'm kind of forced to do so. Would you rather I say "that guy that likes to make music?" I honestly wasn't aware it was a persona name. And honestly, does it even matter?
Its not too fair I suppose to blame people for believing their alter ego story, except for the fact that the story of the Vonlichten brothers really stretches credulity even if you know the Pfeifer Broz are the publishers and many tracks from ES Posthumus and Les Friction are literally Pfeifer Broz tracks. Their entire backstory is absurd and should raise anyones suspicions.
This song honestly makes me cry knowing that Helmut probably did this for his brother. Reminds me of all the freinds and family i have lost too :'(

A few repetitions of the last part would've been genius...

The female vocals sound like Luna Sans came back for a cameo...

@WhatWhenWhereJam I don't know if I wish that I could understand music as much as you, or if I'm glad that I don't. Ignorance is bliss.

Just me or does the beginning sound like Zelda? (it's been some time since I played the game so I could be wrong)

@xRatedL It does sound like Ocarina of Time, just a bit.

I honestly wish this song was longer, would have been my favorite if it lasted around 5 minutes rather than just 4.
