I cried of laughter when our teacher showed us this wonderful film during Art History at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Great job, but the context our teacher placed it in made it funny. Especially with the song XD

That was a problem, I'll admit, that I was aware of from the first test I did of this. But I thought it was endearing and added character to it, the same way the blurry parts do as well.
btw I just got the Norman McLaren box set and it is animation seventh heaven! that man was a bloody genius!

I actually liked that, it added more to it to say the truth, ... honestly im juss browsin around youtube for some abstract films but some how i came here
What Raymond Scott piece is this, if I may ask? I like it a lot; it sounds a lot like his more electronic later work rather than a Quintette recording...
It's off Soothing Sounds For Babies. I wanted to make original music for this but with two and a half weeks to make both motion paintings as well as go to work and school i didn't have any time! I wrote out by hand all the time charts correlated to beats and changes in the music (adjusted to the frame rate), so the only way it could really be done was by having pre-recorded music. At least this time...
i love this little creatures : ) )

Very nice. Would be better if the camera didn't shake quite so much, though.

Ah, well, it does have a pretty, soft sound, and works well with the animation. Thank you!

It looks like the same process used by the earliest animators, yet at the same time aided by recent technology... mind boggling.

colorfull... and I love how it synchs up to the music. :)

it took FOREVER to write out all the charts so that it would sync with the music. thanks!

its watercolor and guache, so during some of the video you actually watch the paint dry and its a cool effect!
