fuck new jersey beaches, wrightsville beach in north carolina is pristine. no huge crowds, but good enough crowds that there is shit to do. amazing surf, 85 degree water consistantly. i HATE being from jersey, the beach water is never more than 65 degrees...

Is it warm enough to enjoy swimming in mid June? I am on the fence between taking my family to OC or down the coast somewhere farther south. I went to OC once as a teenager (many years ago) and I loved it. Any suggestions on a nice motel close to the beach that is affordable? Thanks a bunch for some tips!

Yes, Lucy The Elephant is located in Margate, NJ. It was originally located in either Ventnor (next to Margate) or Atlantic City (next to Ventnor), but was relocated to Margate years later.

OMG i love this place so much. its like my second home for the summer :) my grandmom owns a house down there really close to the beach and wonderland pier :) i have a big family so its always fun to go! and my aunt owns the resturant called "Oves" high spot. ever hear of it, anyone? they sell breakfast, lunch, and dinner and its on the boardwalk sorta near Wonderland Pier !!!

i actually live at the shore i go to ocean city high school and in the winter it is so boring i mean nothing is open and the boardwalk is empty but it is still cool to live there 24/7 and be able to see the ocean from one of my classes

Each time I go to OCNJ, I walk down by the high school and try to imagine what it would be like to go to school there. I honestly couldn't imagine it, but then again I am surrounded by mountains and trees.

When do the shops on the boardwalk open? April? May?

I can understand it would be kind of boring going from action packed summer to winter where everything is closed and tourists are gone. Do the tourists get on your nerves (sorry if they do!)?

sometimes they do like the ones who don't know where they are going or the ones that try to act like the locals that does bother me. some of the stores open in like the middle of april others in may but the Mack and Mankos on 9th street is open all year round. but it is weird when u live here we never really take notice that we live in a vacation area. but i dont know how i would be able to live without the beach a couple of minutes from my house.

but the best thing about going to school here is at the first few football games when the rides at wonderland are open and the lights from them just shine over the feild. and the owners kid sits behind me in geometry which is cool. if u have any more questions feel free to ask me!

When I was there, I actually didn't eat any boardwalk pizza. I fell in love with frozen hot chocolate from the coffee shop, khors, and boardwalk fries. I did have some awesome potato skin pizza from Piccoins (spelled REALLY wrong). It's a little restraunt about three or four streets inland.

Everyone has their own special memories of Ocean City. I moved there in 1985 and Now I'm living over the bridge in Somers Point. I still find new things to love about Ocean City every day.

I live only a half an hour from OC. I've been going there with my family every summer since...good lord...the mid 80's??? By far, the best boardwalk in NJ. BY FAR I say!!! Oh, and why didn't you take any pictures of Prep's Pizza? I may be in the minority, but Preps Pizza is the best on the boards! Staying at the flanders hotel, buying a whole Preps Pizza, hitting the arcades with my friends...good times.
