Then Vulcan and Comcast went and screwed that up, and now we have a very sub par, MTV/Spike hybrid that promises gold and delivers some blue pulsating thing that should really be checked.
I miss the classic G4. I saw this coming once they merged. It was great for a while after they merged. We got some amazing shows like Screen Savers and X-play but it went downhill rather fast. G4 is still good today but it lacks that amazing "for the games" feel that classic G4 was. It'll never be the same :'(

Blame COMCAST and E! Networks for destroying what used to be a good couple of stations. They're the ones that bought them out , merged them, then destroyed them with Jaimie Kennedy and Arrested Developement shows.
I miss Tech TV and G4TV when they were actually Tech and Game Show related stations. I liked the older Screen Saver hosts. It was funny watching the old dude run in the intro of all the classic shows.

i miss this show, and the good days of xplay when they actually, ya know... reviewed games.. tech tv was awesome.. now this whole g4 thing is just... stupid.

G4TechTV Canada more like TechTV. Especially now since recently they have been airing more Tech like shows, such as CNetTV, Lab With Leo, and they seem to be slowly weaving out the shitty G4 programming

They did not. Martin Sargent, who was apart of those layoffs talked about that on a podcast. They did not know it was going to happen until the day it did. They were all paid through March 2005 to fullfill their contracts.

tech tv was so much better than g4 is, the only thing to come out of g4 is convention coverage which is botched whenever the most important news is being delivered (cutting to commercial during live halo3 trailer at e3 yes this did happen)

I completely agree. Once G4 took over it went from a tech and game channel to a crap channel. Even though X play still exist it has gone to crap as well.

I never seen Screensavers, but I can tell by your rantings that it was a good show. Even if it is better than any show on G4, that doesn't mean that the shows on G4 is bad. Call me what you want; nothing anyone can say will change my 'opinion'.

Ah, I remember me & my family would watch The screensavers everyday. We started watching back in the ZDNET days. I really hate to see that good tech educational programming doesn't seem to have a place on tv, I mean I got directv & alot of BS channels but there seems to be no place for tech shows ? Think about how many people have no idea how to set up computers networks firewalls, Shit my grandpa can't even play a Dvd. Sadly im not kidding. IPTV will take over soon ! People want to learn.

I agree, I learned alot about computers from the screensavers, and would probably be a genius if they hadn't replace it with attack of the show, which is uninformal, uneducational, and really quite trashy

Blame COMCAST and E! Networks for destroying what used to be a good couple of stations. They're the ones that bought them out , merged them, then destroyed them with Jaimie Kennedy and Arrested Developement shows.

I miss Tech TV and G4TV when they were actually Tech and Game Show related stations. I liked the older Screen Saver hosts. It was funny watching the old dude run in the intro of all the classic shows.
