  • is there any specific types of silicone that are almost completely transparent?

  • @Pielord09 There are a few silicones that are translucent. Feel free to call us to discuss the specifics of your project and we can point you in the right direction: 800-762-0744

  • can u save the extra resin in a container if you use too much?

  • @FrogMeetsPrince Once Parts A & B are mixed together there's no going back. However, you can estimate how much resin you will need beforehand to minimize the waste. Check out our website for a materials estimate calculator.

  • After watching this, I decided to give this product a try and the when I opened part "A" it poured fine for the 1st half but the rest was like a solid pink gelatin goop. It would not pour or mix to Part B. Did something go wrong with my product?

  • @nycrayjai It is possible that storage temperatures or shelf life played a part in your issues. Can you set up a service ticket in our 'Customer Service' area? We can then look into it further.

  • My mixture was no where near this pourable when I finished mixing it. I only mixed it for about 10 minutes, but the pot life is 30 minutes so I was wondering what the problem was? It wasn't humid outside and I did equal parts perfectly. My part B (blue) was a little goopy/thickish, but it was new from the store...I had to dump my mixture onto my model because it just wouldn't come out of the cup. I feel like I should have stuck with Oomoo 25 instead. This is my first time using Oomoo 30.

  • @LieutKusa I would recommend contacting the store you purchased the material from, as the material whould be very low in viscosity. You could also contact us at out 'Tech Support' page with the material lot numbers or at 1 800 762 0744 for more assistance.

  • @SmoothOnInc Thank you! I just got some great suggestions, too. =)

  • I have a little problem: i've made a model with oomoo, and from that model i wanted to do a new cast with smooth-sil (and ease release 200). Everything cured but around the oomoo model it was still slimey (so no detail)? any solutions or explinations?

  • @paloskie The OOMOO® silicone is tin-cured, which will inhibit the cure of Smooth-Sil® silicone (which is platinum-cured). You could use a high-strength silicone such as Mold Max® 30 instead of the Smooth-Sil® if you are looking to make a production mold.

  • it would be nice if they have materials for cast rubber and flexible plastic parts

  • Is there a place where i can buy this for or in europe?

  • @paloskie Yes, check out the website for a list of international distributors.

  • @paloskie: Check: kauposil.com

  • Is there a place where i can buy this for/in europe?

  • Furthermore, can I use vaseline as a release agent instead or get away without using any release?

  • How would you recommend measuring the amount of silicone and resin I need for mold making and casting?

  • @3dcga On our website there are calculators to estimate both the amount of rubber and the amount of resin you would need.

  • so how many of those can be mad until a new mold needs to be made

  • @quailde250 It's hard to predict how many castings you will get from a single mold. Using a release agent like Ease Release 200 can help to extend the production life of your mold.
