  • I love this song, could somebody tell me of some other songs I might like because of this? (and yes, I love Pink Floyd)

  • @BraDRoBBo Research "Alan Parsons Project". BTW, he was the mixing engineer for Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", and other great stuff. Love his work!

  • @yerbullshit Thanks! And I know, that's how I found out about him/this, I'm a big fan of Pink Floyd! =D.

  • I am not very much into anime or a fan of Gundam but this was done to excellent effect!

  • i blasted this in my barracks room in adak alaska on my new sony hpf-1500's and the sound was so clear, it was amazing, and also, alan parsons engineered dark side of the moon, pink floyd.

  • @ranchero1970351

Ahhhh, Adak! ! I spent '83-'84 there doing much the same thing!! APP, Planet P Project, Floyd, Neil Young.

Wasn't much else to do some days. Great tune.

  • I went th the top of cadillac mountain in Maine (first place the sun rises in the USA) to hear this back in 1977 while attending UMO. Musta been around the start of Earth Day. We were so before our time and we didn't care.

  • I used to listen to this while sitting on the beach at night under the stars far from the lights of civilization. AWSOME!

  • Was to music what Stanley Kubrick was to film!

  • Alan Parsons is a musical genius !

  • Potential Doc Savage theme song

  • Esses efeitos especiais (sonoros) são dos anos 70. Quarentas anos após fica devendo algo para o que há mais novo neste mercado?

  • i'll describe it in a second...controlled industrialization

  • mind altering...in a good way

  • I used to have this LP, lent it out and that was the last I saw of it, brings back memories, thanks, danke!

  • awesome, ty

  • to harrygstewart. APP is an acquired taste and has kept me interested since 1976. Each album is sufficiently different from the previous to be non-formulaic. APP seeks the best musicians and vocalists and uses them to great advantage. APP can not be put into any box except creative and productive genius.

  • just discovered this band tonight. im lovin this funky psychedelic beat. any other APP songs similar to this I should know of?

  • @harrygstewart APP songs don't sound like each other except for their progressive well rehearsed renditions.

Listen to everything Alan Parson recorded.

  • @topthickproducer Their vocals definitely vary... They've had about a dozen different lead vocalists over the years.

  • @harrygstewart For psychedelic feeling try "Time", but you should know that Alan Parson was a perfectionist and every song is unique

  • Great syncopation at 1:37.

    Underrated Group.

One of the best progressive rock bands!

  • Y esta una de las mejores composiciones de Alan Parson

  • This is the first song from APP that I heard. I was in college, taking a nap in our dorm room. I had the radio on, and this song came on. I was half asleep, and just loved the beginning spacey feeling of the song. I forced myself to stay awake long enough to hear who this was. The next day I went and bought the album. That was in 1977. I have been a fan since then.

  • Starlite nites, fine Columbian and Alan Parsons...

  • I like the music and the video, but I just wanted to mention the robots doing push-ups and sit-ups at the end: that looks so stupid! haha

  • good song

  • @UnFathaMabLe mutilated? interesting choice of diction.

  • @bubs7569 mu·ti·late (mytl-t)

    tr.v. mu·ti·lat·ed, mu·ti·lat·ing, mu·ti·lates

    1. To deprive of a limb or an essential part; cripple.

    2. To disfigure by damaging irreparably

    3. To make imperfect by excising or altering parts.

    Yep, mutilated.

  • i used to watch Mazzinger Z in comics when i was 5 yo!

  • Allan Parsons is so advanced that only a few can enjoy his music. Pure genius, accoustic and style is magic.

  • love this song. such excellent mixing and production. parsons is great. check out my tribute song i composed in my channel. i'd love to hear what people think of it ("Parsons and I") :-) You will hear some parsons elements in there. :)

  • This song knocksss....

  • Why do so many of us creatures take for granted our ability to hear Sound, and argue the rights, and wrongs of talented Musicians/Writers instead of Marveling at the endless combinations of Tone, Timbre, Resonance, on which to feast our amazing Hearing that individuals like Alan Parsons, and the like, create for our mutual pleasure. The choice is ours, take it or leave it. Thanks to 'HalJordan' for uploading, Cheers form the UK..

  • @RUSHEBOY

man, i want some of what you were smoking when you made this comment

  • the first tape i bought. aside from blanks.lol

  • This has probably been pointed out already, but the black & red bot with the girlfriend bot is called Tranzor-Z here in America & its original name is Mazinger(I think...). Both versions sucked. While the movie is barely like the book, It didn't suck. But thats a matter of opinion. I thought it was a scream when the robots attacked Smith in his car & as one slammed its fist thru' the window it calmly informed him that he was experiencing a car accident! It made me laff(makes Peter Lorre noise).

  • @Velocity9s You are all missing the point. This Alan Parson's tune has so many different melody changes it is astonding. Listen with a good stereo and headphones close your eyes and see where it akes you.

  • @BREEZZPEARL How can I miss My own point? I was not saying this song sucked--I was not saying that the movie or the book sucked. They were not alike but they were great for different reasons(except for un-acceptible foul language...). I was saying that Mazinger & Tranzor-Z sucked. As for the group, That Alan Parsons Project were great. I however am partial to Eric Wolfson's stuff almost exclussively. The guy was obviously a Stratovarious who thru' enchantment was tranformed into a man.

  • First time I heard this song was while I was driving into a huge electrical storm at night. Amazing how the music went with the lightning!

  • Is this transformers? My younger cousin loves em but hasn't been exposed to prog rock. maybe I can use this video as an excuse! Then I'll show him Pokemon in-sync with ELP!!!!

  • Maybe, but had more in line with the book than this dumbass cartoon.

  • Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!

  • Comments aside, beautiful job with creating the home made video,Hal.Spot on.

  • Thanx for sharing this Richard.

  • I love Alan Parsons ... wish he would merry me ... and who are these 56 people who doesn't like him? Well ... I don't like them either!

  • linda epoca en mi vida ..... muy buena musica !!!

  • This song is still ahead of it`s time.

  • jhillst I think that Kraftwerk could love listing to it on the Autobahn.

  • That is the most intelligent and funny comment I have ever read, Ohm Sweet Ohm...

  • I wonder what Kraftwerk thought of this song.

  • I got this 8 Track Tape in 1977, I was a Columbia House member even back then. Alan Parsons Project helped to shape my musical intrest, since he was also the Engineer on Pink Floyds "Dark Side of the Moon" I've been listening to his stuff for a lot of Decades now.

Also, I just found out tonight that Eric Wolfson whom is Alan's "Voice" died last December. My hats off to his Family.

  • Este album fue uno de los mejores que hizo a mi parecer, aunque con el video no se han esmerao mucho que digamos

  • Great headphone music. A little hash, some wine...Mmmmmmmmm

  • @ciera57yr .....ditto. could listen to this for quite a while...

  • @ciera57yr agreed, but real cans, no earbuds.............

  • @xThePinkFloydx So very true.

  • Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, soooooooooo much for posting this vid :)

My late father used to play me Alan Parsons, Jean-M-J, Rick Wakeman, ELP and allsorts of way-out stuff when i was a kid. This is such a timeless funk-laden track .. i'm in another place just hearing it again .... and seeing the video for the first time ... well ... call St Peter because i can die now ... i am fullfilled ... thankyou :)

  • Well I'm going through another round of listening to APP music on Youtube, and while basically all their songs a great, this one may be the very best one for me! !:-)

  • I started listening to Alan Parsons because of this song when the album came out years ago. A friend let me borrow his and I was hooked. I own plenty now. Funny I had a hotrod 70 Javelin blarring out Alan Parsons songs while others played Boston, styx, etc. loudly. The looks I got were funny. Nice rendition.

  • reminds me a lil bit of Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells

  • @Elvisdogg omg, after reading tommu's responce i read yours and hell yes, i was listening to tubular bells with a friend of mine that is, of all things a rap artist (i am anything but, but i am open) anyway he loved tubular bells and loves alan parson so there is hope for rap yet :).

  • no vocals the whole song? uhhmmm ok...

  • @Yourdaddy14444 Pssssst.... when there are no lyrics (vocals), it isn't a "song," it's called an "instrumental" ... :o].

  • @AnnHattieAnn it's a Journey.

  • @AnnHattieAnn You also listen to the Moody Blues, I recall, 'You and Me'..............cool.

  • @ilovekansas As do you ... Pray all is well with you. Merry Christmas, friend.

  • Always loved this, brings back memories of sittin with me dad all those years ago!

  • Hail, Koji Kabuto

  • Listening to this in the Flint Hills in south central Kansas, watching 50,000 foot high thunderheads rolling in ....... wow.

  • Had many a headphone session with this one.....

  • Dont Laugh - A test to see how old you are - 8 Track, 1970 Camaro, Z-28, Hurst, Holly, Crane, Mickey Thompson, Eidlebrock,, Ladder Bars, Glass Packs, Kraco, (ok Im High Freq. Deaf, the Kraco kicked Bass) - This was an awesome cruising album - sunrise- Sunday Morning over the Mountains Midcoast Me to Glens Falls NY - just over 4 hours - no cops, drunks all in bed, to early for the church crowd - Wind it up and kick it through corners over 135 mph and dream it flies (God spares fools - LOL)

  • amazing one song unlocked so many memories and hope my son never reads this

  • @etimc

you give me chills.... what a great experience! we lived thru those days.

  • I remember this used to be one of THE pieces with which to test your HiFi system, speakers and all, like in the late 70-ies. I have great memories of APP (and Supertramp among others). Totally love it still today. Just great music.

  • @TommyHaegin actually, my dad has a recording studio and we still test new equipment with this (it is a way better recording than most current recordings) on vinyl among other music, it still blows you away on high end gear.

  • @Smokinjoewhite So you say! Interesting. :-) Cheers!!

  • Excelente elección de video, me parecio gracioso Mazzinger Zeta se la rifa bailando XD

  • Movie sucks, book is awesome. Love the album.

  • Excellent! I love this!!!!

  • Nice video montage with the classics. Toons and music. Well done!!

  • No, a movie starring Will Smith. I believe its release was 2005.

  • Y NOT BELIEVE?

  • Sounds kind of like porno background music. Where's Ron Jeremy?

  • @certifiedloco , guy, your lack of culture defies imagination...

  • Don't get me wrong. I love APP and appreciate their originality, some songs by theirs I love (lucifer, eye in the sky), others not so much (let's talk about me). Just thought the intro to this was funny is all. I will try and delete my post if my comment upsets any fans. Peace

  • @certifiedloco, sorry, it's been my fault to call you an ignorant.

You were joking and you did not offend anyone with your comment.

  • I had this on vinyl when it came out a long time ago.......

  • @Srhandel same here and is still as good as the first day i bought it

  • Comment removed

  • WOW it's been a long time since I heard this song. Does this mean I'm old??

  • @ronofontario Yeh easily as old as me

  • Cool vid.

  • 2:20 Spread the butter yeah!

  • This is the father of daft punk!

  • Was there a book or something by this name?

  • @7beers A book by Isaac Asimov and a horrible movie by Will Smith (in acting, don't even care who directed it)

  • @HalJordan69 I thought the Will Smith movie was great.

  • @7beers Might be as in a blockbuster and assfull effects movie, but in comparison with the book, just a shitty adaptation movie...

  • @HalJordan69 "The Outer Limits" also did a TV version of "I Robot" with Leonard Nimoy as a lawyer defending the robot.

  • @HalJordan69 It was entertaininb, but yeah, not true to the book.

  • @7beers good movie

  • @7beers I liked the movie too, and it did have some thought provoking elements to it

though im sure it pales to Isaac Asimov's work

  • @HalJordan69 One of the greatest books in one of the greatest series ever written. Leave it to Hollywood to assrape it

  • I agree I thought it sucked, Actually I think everything he has done sucked, Can anyone name a good movie from him? Maybe I`m missing one?

  • Vandermas: There is no connection between Asimov's book and the movie starring Will Smith. The first is the antithesis of the quartet of the Galaxy, the second tells a story: it is a randomness in which the same title.

  • Was this before T pain?

  • @bucktoofus LOL... take a wild guess lol

  • Good to hear the APP...So influenced My music Direction

  • @holysmoke721 ... Yes me too (influenced), they were ... "they are" still like a BLUEPRINT, to arrange amazing and ALLTIME fashioned STORIES. ;o)

  • Un tema buenissimo.

  • Great job...this is kick ath!

  • I TOTALLY LOVE THIS SONG !

  • ((( I Robot)))

  • ive got the album "good stuff alan"

  • Does anyone know what anime series is that?

I thought there were a few Robotech shots in there, but then I realized it was similar, but not the same.

    Likewise, it isn't Transformers.

    Gundam Wing maybe?

I know some Anime, but it is rather limited.

  • It is mentioned in the description.

  • Alan Parsons is AWESOME

  • Instead of an opening band,Emerson,Lake, and Palmer chose to crank this before it was released at a concert I went to. Had to have it ...!!! I was at the store the day it was released.

  • ELP had undeniably good taste in music.

  • uno de mis temas favoritos y lo mejor en animación ,ya quisieran mucho crear ambas cosas hoy ....

  • geweldig,

    wat een muziek ....

ogenschijnlijk zo simpel, maar het neemt je mee

  • Yep, zeker weten =o)

  • I don´t know if the animation are transformers or Dragon ball, but ¿didn´t anybody notice MAZINGER Z or Afrodita? They were the seed of japanese cartoons in the 70´s.

what a memories of my childhood!!

  • yeah that was surprising they didn't use that song

  • This is one sick-ass beat.

  • Before Michael Cretu and Enigma there were Eric Woolfson and Alan Parsons!

    Utter creative genius!
