@SMB67T Not a fan of the heavy v8 M3. Thats why i bought a 06 e46 M3 with the strait 6 ALL motor 340bhp @ only 3300 lbs. But mines just like the collectors CSL M3 :) It's 400bhp @ 3026lbs! It beats the new m3's too because im nearly 1000 lbs lighter. Thats like having an extra 100bhp :) The c63 is quick with that AMG supercharger boosting it, but its 4 doors and i think its more like that fast sedan type. HPF m3 turbo kits get up to 1200hp to the wheels! German cars are all sweet though!

i hate myself for saying this: cubic inches are not everything. the m3-engine revs up that high that the c63engine would break down if it would reach that rpm-level and i really like bmws philosophy of getting hp by high rpm. that makes lower enginesize(and weight) possible. its just fun to drive a car that reaches high rpm. but i agree: a high reving 6.2litre-engine would really be a beast
@lolzoretwo if BMW were to make a 6.2 liter engine it would probably be on the M5 and M6 and this will consume loads of fuel more than they already consume. BMW tries to make the best out of smaller engines and liters. You can see how the M3 is the best in its category, not based on a straight line test, but based on a track test, drivability and efficiency. The C63 engine is a monster but it consumes fuel way more and doesnt handle well.

in germany merc is for senior sitizens or retired people and don´t have the good reputation anymore as it has in the states. bmw has a much more sportive image and is very popular for people between 18 - 50 year old persons. Also Audi is getting bigger here. Bavarian cars rules

Fact is that the M3 is a better all around car (proven several times on the track), but the C63 engine is spectacular :)

i hate myself for saying this: cubic inches are not everything. the m3-engine revs up that high that the c63engine would break down if it would reach that rpm-level and i really like bmws philosophy of getting hp by high rpm. that makes lower enginesize(and weight) possible. its just fun to drive a car that reaches high rpm. but i agree: a high reving 6.2litre-engine would really be a beast

@lolzoretwo if BMW were to make a 6.2 liter engine it would probably be on the M5 and M6 and this will consume loads of fuel more than they already consume. BMW tries to make the best out of smaller engines and liters. You can see how the M3 is the best in its category, not based on a straight line test, but based on a track test, drivability and efficiency. The C63 engine is a monster but it consumes fuel way more and doesnt handle well.

both really nice cars - m3 is a ultra precise weapon and the c63 is a big hammer ! both must be really great fun (actualy i know about the c63 - i often drive my fathers one :D )
so stop hating because the would be a bit faster on the tracker - do you live on a track ? fun is everything that matters. a car should be a laugh in my eyes !

the convertible is much more heavier then the merc. you have to compare the merc with the coupe or sedan of the m3.
in germany merc is for senior sitizens or retired people and don´t have the good reputation anymore as it has in the states. bmw has a much more sportive image and is very popular for people between 18 - 50 year old persons. Also Audi is getting bigger here. Bavarian cars rules

I like M3, this is my fav BMW, but I'll never say something wrong about mercedes, this is fantastic car company and I'll always protect it.
Remembre, C-class is limited to ~450hp adn it is heavier than M3

@mrLECHOO c63amg - 1730 kg, m3 convertible - 1905 kg :P so i think the bimmer is heavier quite heavier. the coupe is lighter than the amg by 55 kg and the sedan by 30kg

C63 is a rocket, but then it does 50% more torque than the Beemer!
One thing I don't get is why they geared the M3 higher than the M5's?...Surely with such a high revving motor, tighter gearing (like the C63's) would have yielded better performance figures.

C63 AMG have 2L more than a M3 (that's a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo between them..!) and yet it doesn't handle well in a curves.
Mercedes should work on it as well.

But only 0-100 Km/h we are same
On the nurburgring is the M3 much faster, thats right!

A question, does merc use the exact same engine in cl63,s63,sl63 like the c63? I think they do, but why such a price difference between these cars? c63 is the best bargain and the fastest.

Oh, I do know which car is comparable to which lol, U don't need to explain all that but thanks anyways, I was just asking abt the engine.
Of course S and the CL are the fastest as well.
Normally an old person is driving the S, the reason is of course its the most comfortable. CL63 does indeed look very nice and special.
