Memory and reflection bring it into our present and will drag it into our future as well. That we are--every day of our lives--who we have been in days that have passed. Each crossroads we face will involve choices that define us forever, because to take one path is to leave another behind. And what we leave behind is not merely another life we may have lived, but another self we may have been.
There are two people that wrong the green button with the red button. Sorry for my bad english, I am spanish. We have a lot of public deficits, and our language education is the worst of UE. the scene is epic.
@SuperLegend1983 you'll find people from the uk are worse. 99 percent of brits speak 1 language. they think everyone speaks english. americans are even thicker. most continental europeans know at least 2 languages.
wanna know how morricone feels when he compose or inventing this music...wanna know other people's peculiarities w/ main stream crowd..this morricone how does he feel,, wanna know
@tomroxelf Absolute IDIOTS. I think maybe the movie was ahead of its time at the same time as being post Godfather out of fashion. You wouldn't think it was an 80s movie. It got the mood perfect in my book. It was timeless.
Rétrospectivement cette scène est encore plus émouvante qu'à la première vision (ce que j'ai d'ailleurs tendance à reprocher à ce film entr autres), mais ces musiques sont tellement... et tellement appropriées!..
@Murphypaws No, he wasn't. This movie was shot some 7 years before he died. He always had a big nose and he was even fatter then than he was in the '60's. Just look at an interview or something. He had a fat Orson Welles/Buddha face to.
My Mom's friend once gave me an old copy of the original 225. min version of this movie. The first time I watched it, I was still trying to piece together the story. However, this scene was the one I remember that made sense to me. I cried when I saw Noodles walk through the glass door, aged beyond years. What a story. I LOVE THIS MOVIE.

i was in USA for a long time and came to live in my country.whenever i look in to this movie it remind me of Brooklyn.for me out of every city in new York Brooklyn always the best for me.even though time has change Brooklyn never been change.except the new buildings.tell you the truth now i start to miss Brooklyn and new York. anyway thanks to this movie Brooklyn always comes to my mind.
i heard that sergio lenone originally was gonna hire another actor to play old noodles. of course once de niro came on board, it all came down to one actor.

Beautiful movie, brilliant Beatles cover too. Sham the scumbags that worked at post production butchered the final cut for american releases.

Google Sergio Leone as Ticket Master in Once Upon a Time in America - you will see I am correct. He played the part as 'uncredited'.

@Murphypaws You haven't seen what Sergio Leone before, have you? He looks like Buddha and Orson Welles.

Hi NeverAloneForever. We must remember he was a younger man when he portrayed the ticket master in that brief scene.

There have been over 1000 covers made of this song since the 1960s so its a difficult one to trace. Try a google search - one came up with Muzak ?
