  • were is the tank

  • Nice calm spot you found there...

  • I am a KTM 640R Adventure owner, and I must say, though I have never ridden a BMW, this bike looks amazing. I am routinely astounded at my amazing KTM's dirt-bike heritage off-road, and its ability to handle anything I could ever throw at it and more.

This bike looks just as capable and more.

The *only* downfall of the KTM 640R is the high CG of the enormous enduro gas tank; the wiser placement of the F800's beneath the seat makes it a joy to ride, I'll bet.

    -R., Seattle.

  • Yeah, I'll buy this bike

  • nice bike,cost to much?

  • Can't wait to test ride it here in OZ. Seems to be a worthy 'upgrade' from my R1100GS. The weight reduction would be well worth it alone!!

  • I love the bike,im watching and waiting to see how it pans out.

  • This GS has its place as dose the GS 1200. While this little BMW will suit short arses I think the big mighty GS 1200 will suit the real men of motorcycling.

    Long live the Boxer!

  • Looks like a brilliant bike. I have the 1150GS adv. and it's perfect in all respects except weight, ths looks like the answer. My only question is, what's the fuel range ?

  • Great Design!

    And here some facts:

800ccm, 85hp, 178 kg - all for less than 9.500 EUR. That new BMW seems to become the new "real" GS and a great success. Although a very attractice alternative to the too heavy GS 1150 / 1200, the too small F650, the too expensive HP2 and KTM LC-8 too.

Fell in Love with the bike at first sight!

Would love to travell through Georgia with it next year.

  • The "too small F650" just got the detuned 800 engine.

  • Yeah but it's a chain drive! I was so excited upon hearing about this bike, thought it was going to be the perfect bike for a trip I've been planning, then I found out about the chain drive. How is it practical to go adventure touring when you have to clean and lube a chain every 400 miles or so? Maybe there's something I'm missing but as far as I can tell the only sensible drive system for an adventure tourer would be an enclosed shaft.

  • ElitePower: This engine and drivetrain aren't a new concept as BMW bought out Husqavarna in order to come up with this bike.

  • until you have problems with the shaft drive system, and then your up shit creek with out a paddle mate!

really, the only sensible drive system for an adventure tourer would be a fully enclosed belt drive system!

  • So did I man, fell in love with it instantly! It surely is a beauty..just hope I can find the money 4 it soon!!!
