YAY CENSORSHIP! That's talent. Although the sandwhich thingy was just pointless. When it's nudity and porno etc, I completely support censorship, but when it comes to food from different cultures/customs from different cultures being censored out or Americanized, I don't think it's necessary to make changes. Animé is Japanese and that should be respected in the sense that people shouldn't try and make it look as if the show was originally Western. Onigiri rocks, screw American appeal!!!

To be fair, people have the right to know what to expect when they watch an animé. I'm sick and tired of getting into an animé and then finding out it's demographic is hard up old men that never get none. It's not like there's a shortage of porno elsewhere. And besides, some animés that do have nudity etc have a good message, but the sexual stuff just ruins it for a lot of people like me. Censoring gets rid of the unnecessary perviness and allows more people to enjoy the series.

The most reseasonable censors are the riceball edits, Dragonball edits and the gun edits. Sure they're Japanese cartoons but it's not like you haven't seen American things edited in Japan. Why they don't want kids to learn about riceballs is beyond me. Nudity's nudity and no one really wants to look at little Goku's genitals. lol There could been better substitutes for the guns though.

Well the rice/sandwich isnt censorship its just cultural differences. American children probably dont know about rice triangles so they put a sandwich in place to make sense.

@noqa its not about shielding one from a culture but having it adapt to a new place. When I was I kid I didnt know about Japanese culture or other cultures in general. I didnt even know what anime was, all I knew was that I enjoyed watching pokemon with my lunchables. Now that Im older I appreciate, understand and have an open mind about everything. Not so much when I was a kid.
