interesting... though you could get more energy with a greater combustion chamber expansion ratio... have you looked into changing the symetry so that your compression chamber is smaller than your combustion chamber?
that is a paradigm that reciprocating engines can't overcome because that would require a variable geometry crank... something which would certainly add 10 lbs and cut the life down to minutes. the wankel couldn't either because of the fixed geometry of the seal points.
way to go you figured out power point...next time though, you might wanna design somethin that'll actually work before you worry about an accesory drive...FAIL
Nice job man! That is some impressive CAD work. I think it would be a good idea for that kind of engine for racing. And for Futuristictech, Most rotary engines aren't used for fuel efficiency, they are used for racing and power purposes. It says fuel saving because there is less leak between each quadrant between the rotor, so less fuel is wasted. Even though it is bigger, it doesn't waste as much fuel as other rotary engines.
Audi are using a rotary as a range extender on a series-hybrid because it is so small. Rotaries have v good mpg on their reving sweet spot. A constant speed generator is the ideal niche for the rotary. The power/weight ratio is marked. In a few years few cars will not be series-hybrids. Lotus are making an off-the-shelf 1200cc range extender engine for makers. Makers can just drop them into existing body shells, as jaguar are to do with the Lotus engine in the lightweight XJ.
way too much space in compression chamber. it won't compress with the force that you expect. fuel economy is in small comp. chamber less air, and less weight. it can be used in a atv. but not in a car. maybe you forget that the average pass. vehicle weights 2300 pounds. you need more than 4 explotions per rpm. and may be 2 life times to figure it out how to make it work. but you can get a job in any engineering company in the contry. good luck . you going to needed!
You don't know anything... "too much space in compression chamber?" what the hell... that rotor when it turns can achieve huge compression ratios... obviously there are issues to be dealt with but please think first act second...
The idea is not dumb. I had this idea in the early 1990s. Its just you have spent all this time and effort designing and illustrating these parts on exactly something that was tried before and didn't work. Maybe you'll be more successful, but as someone else said "the biggest problemsare sealing, lubrication, and heat in rotary type motors."
I would like to see the valves static in the engine block with springs under. Then one seal on one end of the valve. Then shape the rotor and engine block to suit.
The valves then would be a DIY job to replace, by removing a plate. No need for a spring compressor as the plate compresses the spring as it is bolted up.
This is so dumb I won't tell you the additional steps to make this engine practical. The exact same idea was tried many years ago and it was called the "Heidrick motor" (something like that) and it didn't work. Again there are serious sealing problems and they tried to tighten it up and it didn't run. You can see why it wouldn't work so well: there is too little rotation between ignition and exhaust.
I am glad you mentioned this fact which is relevant to the wankel engine but irrelevant to the IORICE . In contrast to the wankel seal , the IORICE seals are dynamic and lubricated ,thus they compensate for the wear caused by friction . They are tailored to last for a million kilometers !!!
The IORICE is tailored to run for a million kilometers without any need to replace any internal part !!!!!
The core of the engine is continuously filled with lubrication oil which serves a double purpose : the one is to lubricate all the core components and the other is to serve as acooling fluid . This lubrication oil is circulated out to a cooling radiator where it is cooled and reinjected into the core of the engine .
so basically the entire engine is flooded with oil all the time, even during full operation? there would be a lot of burnt oil. you just reinvented the two cycle engine.
As we can see , the design is simple and the assembly is simple too . If the power and torque outputs are those disclosed by the designers on their website , then this is the greatest engine of all times . With a reduction of fuel consumption by 60% , this will be the engine of the future made today .
I hope car and engine manufacturers will examine this engine and that soon it will drive all the new cars . It is also possible to replace existing car engines with this fantastic new engine .
very well done

do it without reciprocating parts and that will be impressive
nice design though, kinda like a quasi turbine

What`s the name of song in this video?
0082038806 2 years ago
Hmm, a square instead of a triangle in the chamber....
And no longer can it be said that the design is simpler with only 3 moving part in the rotary engine lol

Fuel saving ?? has it been made ?? or even put in a car to proove it ? or is it just a ripped off modifyed version of the original rotary ???

good idea but looks like your trying to reinvent the wheel. were would you slap on the 51mm webber?
haha, felix whankel's motors are simpler less moving parts

sure, fuel saving, but the 25,000 mile death wish still lies with the apex seals, which cost more than the car itself to replace.

how are the seals lubricated? oil by vein? or is the whole chamber lubricated even during combustion?

I think the sealings will give a lot of problems. Just like with the Wankel. (which also wasn't exactly fuel saving..)
