The wealth of Corporations belongs to the shareholders and people who have pension funds with that company. The government already takes a portion of that and has no right to profit of the risk taking and hard work of other people.
We have 10% unemployment. How much more before the masses rise up and lash out on the very weathy? This is why a Republican is about to win in a place where it was once impossible for a Republican to win - because the people are DEMANDING the government does something about unemployment. If ambitious motivated people cannot find work, is it not the government's job to make sure their minimum needs are met? That money comes from taxes - ie taking from those that have to give to those who don't.
The government can't fix unemployment by spending. Make work projects simply divert funds from companies that actually give people things they are willing to pay for.
The New Deal didn't solve unemployment, WW2 was a temporary fix. The only real surge in wealth creation and employment came after huge cuts in government spending after the war, coupled with the fact that the USA and Canada were the only intact industrial nations left on earth.
WRONG. You can jumpstart an economy, thus bring unemployment down, by using stimulus (or "make work" as you call it), temporarily from debt / deficit and then pay that off when the economy picks back up (when the economy picks back up so will tax revenue)
The reason for the recovery was due the government at the time realizing that a recession needs to run it's course and wages and spending need to drop for a short period.
The government tightened spending, raised interest rates and the economy reorganized and recovered in less then a year..

This is why a Republican is about to win in a place where it was once impossible for a Republican to win - because the people are DEMANDING the government does something about unemployment. If ambitious motivated people cannot find work, is it not the government's job to make sure their minimum needs are met? That money comes from taxes - ie taking from those that have to give to those who don't.

The government can't fix unemployment by spending. Make work projects simply divert funds from companies that actually give people things they are willing to pay for.
The New Deal didn't solve unemployment, WW2 was a temporary fix. The only real surge in wealth creation and employment came after huge cuts in government spending after the war, coupled with the fact that the USA and Canada were the only intact industrial nations left on earth.

According to the UN Cuba was much richer compared to other nations while under a dictator ship then under a communist one. Hong Kong was a pile of rubble after the second world war that was less rich then Kenya..

Ford didn't have a term. Why do you try to pretend you know what you are talking about. Ford took over when Nixon resigned. Ford was the incumbant in 1976 but had to win the republican primary that pitted him against Reagan and Harold Stassen, who was a former Governer of Minnesota. Most of the people on public assistance are single mothers with children or disabled people. The government does not hand out freebies to anyone. They must be indigent AND seeking employment, or unable to work due to disability. Furthermore, they have a 3 year cap on eligibility. Thank Clinton for that (Gasp! A liberal!).

There were plenty of cultural lines that broke down support for the Nazi's in Germany. Dresden was the Catholic center of Germany and never supported Hitler much.. The same with Nagasaki, that was the Catholic heart of Japan..Both cities obliterated interestingly.
