the thing i dont get is why everyone overlooks all sources of carbon emissions. fossil fuels only emit about 3% of the worlds CO2 each year. the rest... is mostly from dying plants and the process of photosynthesis. that's right. your damn back yard emits more CO2 than your car does. i'm not saying that 'green jobs' arent a good idea i'm just saying the earth will continue to get cool again eventually, then warm again, then cool again, ect. just as it always has

The Earth will get by just fine regardless of climate change. Yes, global temps will rise and fall in various completely natural cycles until the Sun goes Red Giant and fries the Earth. That isn't the point. The point is we mere humans care about whether our cities are flooded or not - whether the ecosystems and bio-diversity on which we rely are healthy or not - whether we have enough food or not - whether disease is rampant or not. We're causing the recent warming, and it's going to harm us.

There is no such thing as "green jobs". The jobs you mentioned were created out of industrialization. The need for building things that help humans progress, like cars, heating and cooling, etc.
Green jobs are the antithesis of that. The plan is to de-industrialize the planet and never allow third world countries to develop the way we did. Its a race to the bottom to eliminate the middle class, tax people for breathing and instituting neo feudalism.

The kyron and commentator refer to "a study", but without any reference. Only the name of an economics professor is cited (in small print). You can find somewhere a professor who'll say virtually anything. Was it a study, a paper, or just this prof talking? Was this his theory, or really a data-based study? How "significant" (parameters checked, dataset size, journal, etc.) a study was it? Are there 9 other studies out there suggesting the contrary that Fox "News", just by coincidence, missed?

Its very basic science. CO2 works like an insulator, it can be dense as a wool coat under certain pressures. CO2 rises into the atmosphere in such huge quantities from any fossil fuel burning that it does two things. One, is reflect large amounts of light that we require for healthy life on earth. The second is the energy it allows through, it contains that heat for much longer periods of time. The result is not necessarily global warming, as much as it is just unnatural climate change.

Almost. The simplest way to think about it is that CO2 is basically transparent to the radiative heating from the Sun (largely visible spectrum). But it's somewhat opaque to the warmed Earth's attempt to re-radiate (infra-red spectrum) back into space. Thus CO2 is like a partial one way door, or a greenhouse, holding the heat in and changing the overall energy balances so that the Earth is warmer. Without the atmosphere, the earth would freeze (something like 40 C cooler if I recall correctly?)

The energy from a mill actually costs the same or less than energy from oil. The main difference being that the money stays in America and is not sent overseas to arab nations. Spain is a much smaller country than America, so we will need many more workers here.
Also, a mill must be maintained, it's not a "build and forget" structure. Like any powerplant, there will need to be employees.

hey buddy hate to break to you but for the most part recycling is a waste, when it comes to paper and plastic, more money is used to recycle then to just create it new, and more pollution is created when its recycled. having non profitable jobs created by the government is a waste.
