  • hey ed! xx see you soon hopefully, well have to arrange it. we'll call sometime!

  • Check out my a cappella group's performance of this amazing song!

    /watch?v=SRCH4MQyQcs

  • FREAKY DANCE MOVES , AT FIRST L THOUGHT L'M GETTING FOOLED?

CAN L SING WITH YOU THOM?! OR JUST LET ME SING FOR YOU....?

  • Ok guys. Three Radiohead songs have 15 in them. Why? Just-"Won't get no sympathy hanging out at the 15th floor?" Climbing up the Walls-"15 blows to the back of your head. 15 blows to your mind." 15 Step- "15 steps, then a sheer drop." What is the significance of 15?!?!?!

  • @bbrriiaann9922 yeah that;s soo true... i'll look 15 up.

  • @bbrriiaann9922 thom has said in interviews that alot of the lyrics he uses, he uses purley for how they sound, and that many of lyrics don't mean anything at all. 15 could just be a word that he really likes for how it sounds comming out of his mouth lol

  • @bbrriiaann9922 HOLY SHIT I JUST GOOGLED '15' AND IT JUST LINKED ME TO THE DOWNLOAD PAGE OF THE NEXT 3 UNRELEASED RADIOHEAD ALBUMS! THIS IS TOTALLY LEGIT

  • @fruitypeebils lol.

  • When in chicago was this?

  • wtf, the guitar guy make some big mistakes... shacking his head like ooh crap o.O

    xD

  • Love this song!!! Headed to iTunes....right now.

  • it remains a mystery to me why RH didn't add this swingin' dick bass in the album version. the live version is SO much better, imho.

  • swinging dick bass? That's kinda strange =|

  • It's very interesting to see the things that changed between the in rainbows recording, and these live performances. The clapping is slightly different, there are a few different words, and Thom's vocal melody is drastically different!

  • i listen this song probably half a dozen times each, thats not a lie. im addicted to this song, to this band.

  • thom dancing is so cute<3

  • i like the remix better ! ! !

  • its funny that at 2:19 no one yells 'hey"

  • because this was before the album was out, and that was only in the album version

  • Why does everyone on youtube argue?

  • my 3rd favourite radiohead song after bodysnatchers and planet telex. too bad it was on that twilight movie, completely destroyed the song. I remember i went to watch it with a cousin overseas because her and the rest wanted to see it and i had no idea what it was. then i heard 15 step at the end and i was so let down. I'm actually surprised radiohead let them put it in the movie though.

  • if your going to let a movie ruin a radiohead song, you are no fan

  • i like it =)

  • best song to dance to

  • hey guys check out our 15 step cover in my profile...

    hope u like it

    Radiohead = best music

  • how come this isnt on the twilight soundtrackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk D:

  • Why would it be? What the hell is wrong with you?

  • damn it people!!! so what if the song is in twilight, just cuz they wanted good songs in there soundtrack and movie does not make twilight bad!!

so stop fucking dissing twilight for wanting good music in there movie

  • WTF!?

  • this song is simply brilliant.

but why, radiohead, would you allow your work to be included in a movie based on a sad excuse for a book?!

    aw, man ;|

  • AHG THEY ARE SO GOOD

  • i only went to watch twilight because i heard that radiohead's song was on it

  • Which one though? I've heard the same thing but don't know which song.

  • 15 step :)

  • This song...it was at the end credits

  • I'm sorry :)

  • You are sorry?...but what for?

  • lol, nada just joking about feeling sorry for you seeing it in twilight, though I'm rather impartial if its made you a Radiohead fan

  • Oh no I already was a fan...I have become a real heavy fan recently...but not because of twilight...honestly I did not like the movie...it was very boring...I have not even read the books...I read the first three chapters and got bored with it...I went to the movie because my brother asked me to...he is a big fan of the book series...but he did not like the movie either...I just cannot understand why there is so much hype over the movie,books...etc...

  • But...this song as well as many other Radiohead songs...is marvelous!

  • radiohead was disrespected by being in twilight!

radiohead is so damn amazing, where twilight is a queer book that girls read because they think its cool to read now, but the only damn book they have read recently is twilight...god i hate the twilight crap

why did you say yes to twilight radiohead?!

  • You must be mistaken.

  • i wonder what 15 step sounded like when they just wrote it it would be funny if it were just an accoustic guitar song like How to Disappear Completely was during OK computer era

  • Dear god, please read MOJO Magazine of February 2008. That's where I got all the information...because, well, THOM said it in the interview about the songs on In_Rainbows.

  • Great song... Johny messed up @ 1:01 :P

  • poor guy

  • lol, poor guy. Making tons of money, one of the greatest artists ever. poor guy... :)

  • lol... true!

  • this really is the best band of there generation!

  • this was supposed to be contrasted to flightless bird! its kind of saying that there's still more to come

  • lollapalooza right?

    best show ive ever seen

  • No, actually. This was from a while ago, on the '03 tour I believe.

  • i apologize- that was my douchebag friend. i didn't actually ask the question

  • 2006

  • No.

15 Step had been kicking around since the recording sessions of Kid A/mnesiac and they played it, as well as songs like Nude, Arpeggi, etc. throughout the '03/'04 Hail To The Thief tours. After the HTTT tours, they went back into the studio and tore apart songs like Arpeggi, Videotape, and Nude (which was previously names Big Ideas).

    Who's the idiot now?

  • your right about this song being in the making during the kid a era, however, radiohead never once played this song on the hail to the thief tour.

the live debut of 15 step was may 2006 in copenhagen. that was the first ever preformance of the song.

  • This video was uploaded in 2006, how could 15 Step be a 2007 song?

  • this song plays during the credits of the movie Twilight!

  • I went to go see that with a friend of mine, even though i didn't want to see it personally. For that reason, the credits were the best part, as i was shocked when 15 step came on!

  • I didn't like this choice of song for the ending - it was a horrible contrast with the last song 'Flightless Bird' which is much better. :) lol - I was just having a listen to this to.

  • i don't think it was a great choice for the credits part either but this is such an awesome song!

  • I love Thom's Dance

  • hi emran, can i please talk to sherrif davis

  • Sure.

  • Brilliant!

  • pretty fucking good I was there and this is a nice memory.

  • amaaaaaazing!!!!

  • Fucking awesome!!!

  • really love the production & the sound, of course

  • These guys fuckin rock!

  • not thats its a hard beat to clap to, but they expect a crowd to clap along lol

    awesome songg though

  • I think Thom's dancing is the best thing my eyes have ever seen.

  • House of Cards is old too. I have versions of Weird Fishes, House of Cards and Nude (previously titled "Big Ideas") that are from like the early 00's and even earlier for Nude.

  • From 2006? But the CD was realised in the end of 2007... :-/

  • artists play unreleased songs in concerts sometimes. fall out boy played "this ain't a scene" at a show that was 1/2 a year before the album was released.

  • or "Nude" for a whole 10 years before it came out on In Rainbows, would be a good example

  • wow, i never knew that. that's a LONG time!

  • in fact it's on the documentary "meeting people is easy" - search nude 98

  • that band who played that song are not really worthy of being in a radiohead chat. i mean really

  • yea and ben gibbard from death cab for cutie played cath from narrow stairs over a year before it was released. the lyrics were different too.

  • was there that night right up front... wow wow wow.

  • I wish I was there.(tear)

  • I can't wait to see them in Vancouver and San Diego, it's going to be sweet! Especially hearing Yorke's voice, Johnny's crazy guitar moves, and Phil's rhythmic drumming.....

  • Where in Chicago was this and when?

  • auditorium theatre june 19 or 20 2006

  • June 20th

  • no... la primera parte parece como si fuera algo africano...

el reggeton no tiene ni partitura, esto tiene una de 5 compases algo EXTREMADAMENTE RARO

  • I was at this concert. Such an awesome performance.

  • i am going to see these in june in dublin..cant wait

  • that... is... great...

  • new orleans funk!

  • um...there not rock..FYI....

  • um...what category would YOU put Radiohead in? just curious...

  • I think they are alternative and a rock band. It kinda depends on what song you are listening to.

  • IIITIMMYIII: define alternative as a genre

  • indie

  • there style is to great to be catagorized just enjoy the music...if you have to catagorize it you lost the point of radiohead

  • the best coment for theyr music ,,, point up for You

  • yeh ungell 1 the rest 0 :)

  • Ok... NPTR33... define "Rock"

  • they're psychedelic rock, kinda like pink floyd but better

  • ehhhhhh different times.....i think its common knowledge that no matter when you where born there are a few bands that you cant say anyone is better than.....even if they are.....cuz they are the originals man.......ya know?

  • they play music.

    they dabble in many genres.

    "absolute best band ever"

    there, fixed it.

  • love it love it love it

    absolute best rock band ever

  • Thom danza ;D

  • Cannot wait for this at Manchester, gonna be mental

  • im so excited, im going to see them in britain!!!

  • Spettacolo puro...

  • R-A-D-IO-H-E-A-D e niente altro

  • it's perfect

  • Aguante Radiohead!!!

Espero verlos en Argentina alguna vez en la vida.

  • La verdad que estaria muy bueno que alguna vez se den una vuelta por argentina! no importa la entrada, voy a estar primero si o si! o no?

  • Y tambien a MEXICO DF ahhhhhhhhhhhh

    I loVE Radiohead

  • I was sittin right there in the crowd dawgs! 6-20-06.

  • holy shiz i was there too. what a glorious night.

  • te envidio jajajaj

  • yorke is going crazy onstage..yeah

  • awesome.

  • He's leading the crowd's clapping, which is extremely important for the rhythm section of the song. I don't see what's funny about that.

  • calm down

  • What made you think I'm not calm?

  • the stern youtube comment

  • It wasn't meant to be stern. My apologies if it came across that way. I just wanted to point out that the clapping is important in the song, that's all.

  • I DONT KNOW WHAT IS GONA BE LIKE ON THIS Next tour, it douest seem that these songs are made for them to play it on the stage, there arent many emotions like preforming older songs

  • I was at this show. Im not sure what he has in his hand. Would be curious to know though.

  • looks like a Boss D. Sampler, you can see it more clear on their mist scotch webcast

  • i love ed claping!

  • man wat a brilliant song. i love how thom just rides the drum beat at the start. brilliant

  • what did Ed have in his hand when we walked over to the other side of the stage?

  • The tribunal is brutal.

  • i love the classic west african melody they have sampled. well done radiohead.

  • yeathe melody does sound african, but i don't think it's sampled. thom would have mentioned it when he was talking about 15 step in one of his interviews last year. where do you think it's sampled from?

  • man.. i crashed on my bday listening to this song...lol. its a good song tho

  • That sucks, i got pulled over for speeding while listening to 'True Love Waits' ... Ironic?

  • if you noticed, right before that absolutely amazing drone starts at 2:29, Ed walks over to Jonny, and he has some kind of equipment in his hands...i have a feeling it has something to do with the drone. does anybody here know anything about it? i've always been curious, but have never come across any explanation.

  • what about the sound between 1:50 and 2:00 ... or is everybody just wrongly assuming that's thom singing?!

  • The only reason you guys are talking about Ed's apparent lack of input is because he's on stage (showing support). With most bands when a somewhat minimalistic song is played the other fellow presumably just sort of takes a break and finds a seat.

  • vangan a chile de una vez por todas loco!!!!

  • no offence to the poster of this vid, but I find it so annoying that this vid of 15 step gets far more views than the vastly superior copenhagen performance (which will probably be at the top in related vids). that one really shows how incredible 15 step is live.

  • i'd just like to say in the wise words of Thom Yorke, "just because you feel it, doesn't mean it's there."

  • are you guys kidding? if you cant hear what ed is doing, then you are clearly deaf. he is making some of the coolest/most important notes in this song. plus, who says how much each band member needs to contribute? iam sure every note has its purpose, even if it's only a few notes here and there. plus this is a minimal albulm. seriously get off the crack.

  • Eds there to look like morrissey, thats enough

  • I used to think that too, but he does a lot more than people realize. In more recent live shows, he really doesn't do that much, Dollars & Cents is an exception, but in earlier live performances (Astoria Live), Ed was definitely an underrated part of the band. A lot of the weird, Radiohead characteristics of songs were usually of his doing, all that feedback and tremolo and shit. Plus, songs like Paranoid Android and the Tourist wouldn't be the same without Ed.

  • I think it's pretty apparent that Ed contributed a lot in the studio and the records of past. i don't think he was underrated then.. what would nice dream be without *bubble* effects? (and its not sacarsm to would-be-naysayers)

but wow, really looking at this.. he just isn't doing much. is he running out of ideas?

  • there's obviously some songs where band-members are left out. i don't think phil really does much during idioteque except for maybe 30 seconds or so. another thing ed contributes is killer back-up vocals. absolutely unbeatable.

  • good shout with the backing vocals, definitely worthy of mention.

you have to take into consideration that ed's main intrusment is the guitar and radiohead have three guitarists...each member plays a valid part in sementing radiohead as the most brave and challenging band in the last twenty years of popular music.

  • Ed does a lot live. A lot of the time he's making his guitar or effects sound like a synth, which probably makes people think it's being done by Jonny rather than him. In this song he's using a sampler to play the synth parts at the end, one of the main parts of the song.

  • but those songs wouldn't be what they are without Ed's weird guitar noises. that's what makes radiohead super uber fantastic - everyone contributes and everyone is important. stop these ignorant remarks.

"looking at this he isn't doing much"? first of all, it's just one song. and second of all, you aren't paying enough attention. i'm not sure what exactly he's doing but it clearly has something to do with that awesome guitar drone.

  • anyway, stop your silly drivel. i bet none of you are even musicians, because clearly you have no clue what Ed's contribution to Radiohead's sound is...there's more to making music than strumming the chords.

  • Hotdesk, be honest with yourself and admit that you're a clueless twat who hasn't played a note in your life. Nothing is drowned out on HTDC, never mind that there are no strings in it live. What's funny is that all those atmospheric guitar noises and drones, all those "embellishments" are so Radiohead, yet Ed never gets any fucking credit or respect for it. And also, from what I heard, on certain songs everything runs through Ed's pedals. Everything, including Thom's vocals and your mom.

  • As regards How To Disappear Completely and Morning Bell that were mentioned in the original comment, Ed plays lead guitar on HTDC, and on Morning Bell he and Jonny both do seperate lead parts, which is particularly audible live. You're on youtube, look them up!

  • God Radiohead is amazing!!! Gotta love Thom just dancing like a lunatic on stage! Hilarious!

  • lolololololol...why is ed o brien in the band..?that was funny...

  • lol it must be fun watching these people try to clap along

  • P'ED'ALSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! <3

  • Someone actually had the audacity, or ignorance, to ask why ed is still in the band? um, he is kinda the workhorse if you look closely

  • oh totally, there wouldn't be a radiohead without Ed O'Brien. He is the Stirling Morrison to both Jonny and Thom's Lou Reed, plus he can friggin rock out with the best of them. For that matter, anyone who asks why Phil Selway is still in the band (there are a few), that's like asking why Bob Nastanovich was still in Pavement after Gary Young was replaced by Steve West. The answer is: because he's fucking Bob Nastanovich! Blur wrote "Song 2" in honor of the guy!

  • semplicemente grandi!!!

  • I'm a huge Radiohead fan and I'd like to say that the last part of Moonlight Sonata is the most gripping for me. First part gets old.

    Anyways, top-notch song right here.

  • Emptycorp,

I saw your site. Your music heroes are all arpeggio-obsessed ego-solo 1987-style dueches.

"Musical genious" isn't he who can play a run of notes the quickest; it's he who can move someone's spirit the deepest. You make, and like, obnoxiously showy solo-cliches, because the concept of spiritual depth to music, is foreign to you. The latter stages of Moonlight Sonata are hardest to play, but the one that sticks to you, is the first section. Think about that, lightweight.

  • Amen slitheringinterstate. Those words were immaculate and so true.

  • I love Thom's dance, lol.

  • Why are clueless twats like yourself still allowed to talk?

    (this is for litford)

  • drum n bass vibe innit. Thom sounds like Nina Simone.

    Biggitup.

  • this is my fave song on this album, awesome!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What a wanker!
