@jjtc100 if you don't want an addon, there is an AI carrier in free flight in acceleration right next to the golden gate bridge on fridays. your ship traffic setting has to be on full though

there are many carriers in simviation. they are free!! They also have catapult and cables if you have acceleration add on pack

There is a aircraft carrier with cables and catapult i dont know if you need acceleration though.

OK you start at airport code KNGU and go out to sea there are 2 carriers there, 1 has the approach lights and has no traffic, that is the working one, whereas the static non working one has really crap detailed parked aircraft on it, try landing like you would in a normal carrier mission just aim for the cables. Thumbs up so people can see, hope this helped!

1. the carrier is an addon where you can make appear anywhere you want at any time. I forgot where I got it and it is freeware

@Mr1Yade You'll have to buy that one, he is playing Flight Deck 6. It is a addon for FSX, but if you want to fly in free flight: Guam Intl. (PGUM) runway 24R south west 252 degrees, fly that way in 30 sec. then you'll see a carrier.

BUT you'll have to have full scenery on to see the carrier. Good luck ;)

@Mr1Yade You can download it at avsim.com. Go to file library(Make an account if you don't already have one). And search Ai Ships Creator. And download the first file. Run the setup... And when you are playing free flight  hit SHIFT+U and a screen will pop up to spawn or control by commands.

1. He didn't. He's using a special program called AICarrier, where he can put a carrier on a map using the Free Flight option.

2. Yes, that is FSX Acceleration. If it wasn't, he couldn't use the aircraft carrier.

Now I know you will agree with me when I say that Microsoft dropped the ball when they removed the replay feature on the carrier missions. Good job nice shots using the "A" gives it some nice wing shots. Now there is no Carrieer in free flight, so you have to go to Missions, click Carrier practice and click the tick box that allows you to change aircraft. Start with the default aircraft and then hit Alt, change the aircraft to what ever you want and youre away laughing.

That plane in the freeware Boeing T-45 Goshawk. Look for it on freeware add-on sites, it's a great bird and perfect for practicing carrier ops (easy to see out of on approach and excellent ground handling making it easy to get back to the catapult).

You can find the AI carriers near 4 cities, but only at certain times on certain days. Google "FSX carrier" and you'll find a list.

The static carrier near San Fran does not have wires, cats, or nav aids, so you can't really use it for practice.
