Nice vid, just remember not to send cav into battle without infantry support. And also you could have takn out their heavy infantry easily with your archers.
2 question well 3 would u recomend to put your troops on a rings grauding the achers? also what is the best way to flank an enemy as they charge your troops in a head on attack and lastly how did you get your boxes to hid or go away thanks.
Doesn't matter how fast you're marching them. The main thing is that they need to be heading to the target destination on the (supposedly) quickest route possible. Even if you intend to take a short-cut by diverting them in another direction (say, as England trying to get to Jerusalem, instead of marching across Europe, you want to hitch a ride on a fleet docked at the Strait of Gibraltar and cut through the Mediterranean), the game doesn't process that, and thus, your men will desert.
By the time I get to the target my general is left by himself and I end up having to spend tons of florins on local mercs to do the job. Now if I go on a crusade, I buy just enough to sustain the march, and purchase the rest when I get there. Just one of the many bugs that the patches never seem to take care of. Another one is the arquebusers that stop firing when fired upon, and wait until the last man is done reloading before firing.
usually, u have to have get some of your own cavalry to go chase them down. Or, you can get into a shoot out with them using your own archers, which sometimes works better. If playing a computer, try the shoot out method. If versing another human player, ur prob gonna have to use the cavalry method cause they're not gonna be stupid enough to let their archer cavalry sit there and get killed
send Mounted Archers on both sides around the enemy with a light cav blending in
use the mounted archers as bait to call out their cav then send the light cav around the army and charge quickly from behind while moving ur infantry in at the same time
if they dnt take bait let the Mounted Archers at the units on the outside off ur opponents army and still send the light cav around and charge
nice battle! just incase u guys don't know, go 2 options on medieval 2, go 2 advanced options, go 2 unit scale, then set scale 2 huge! ur units get twice as many people in them.
At first I questioned your cavalry charge in the beginning, then I understood the significant disadvanteage the footknights had against cavalry. Good technique!
very nice formations for the vids, only thing is that if your online ppl dont play by the rules of war that were acctually done at the time, so yea this is what english armies do, defence thats why i use them, but you always get the enemy using an army that cant be beaten, like 10 units of heavy cav or something that just rush 1 area of ur line causing a full route, do you have any good strats for the online massers as i call them?
yes, put spearman in a box formation (1-2 units each side and just let them come, the cavalry will just die, and when they are engaged with the spearmen, send your other infantry/cavalry (thats inside the box) to engage the already engaged cavalry, ive tried this many times
imagine you were playing a campaign, this is what you would have available early-mid game for your amy. If you wanted to use this formation and you have access to better troops then just replace the 'lesser' troops in this vid with your higher ones.
y didnt u charge ur main army???

Well, as a matter of fact i think it was a good battle but u lack a little bit of tactics.
1. You cant send your light cavalry to charge directly on the enemy infantry, otherwise you will have unneccesary losses.
2. I understand that what you wanted was a defensive battle, but do not leave your archers do the infantry job. They are unnefective in melee.
3. Never order your archers to attacks when your infantry is fighting. You will have losses from friendly fire.
Hope you do better next.

Why didn't you handle their longbowmen with your spare cavalry? They were completely unguarded.

i find that the generals piety is the main factor

thats becaus ewhen they are in tight formation they fire in volleys, put them in loose then they fire at at different targets in the trageted unit.

lane9771 1 year ago
why'd you sacrifice your light cav charging their foot knights?
letmeinyourwindow 4 years ago
because foot knights have poor defense against my cavalry and they were a significant threat to my spear wall, possibly making them rout.
